  1. Meijer on Sawmill is not my favorite. But I think there's a WM now at Bethel & Sawmill, they should be open. Giant Eagle and gas stations around there might be closed. I don't think I've ever seen Anderson's in the paper, only the bag or online.
  2. That WAS the BF secret!! Sam is back!!!!! and deelite is correct, is not happy with the ad!! That explains the special WM "secret" website. WM will be the only news all weekend!! I hope you referred all of the slanderous and obscene posts by WM employees to Sam (he will won't be happy about that either!) with a copy to the WM attorneys demanding that they cease and desist from such activitiy or you may have to terminate their affiliate standing with GD
  3. Dispatch notorious for this. They claim that only way to ensure you get ALL of the ads is to get home delivery. I guess you just proved that's untrue also. It depends on what stores you are looking for. Big Lots for example, you're more likely to find in the city. Staples, in the suburbs. Meijer is in the bag that gets delivered by another division of the Dispatch. Their Super Saturday Ads tend to be in Thursday's paper. You can always get Meijer ad online! I usually do pretty well at Speedway, BP and Meijer as far as finding papers. Go to 2 different areas if you want to check that you find the most ads. One in a nicer suburb and one in the city, usually a zip code or two away from the suburb (I hear that's what they use to determine which areas get which ads).
  4. What was the item? I'll guess it was not a laptop or TV (unless it was a big screen which still cost several thousand dollars - not too many people who can afford to drop that kind of cash are willing to wait in line. Some? Yes. But not too many. Or was there a short line at your store? Maybe only 10-20 people?
  5. I have no doubt that the B&M stores will always have sales, but it also seems that many of their promotions etc have moved online. Maybe the 2nd wave of sale prices at noon on BF will be sent by text msg - in the hopes of luring us back to a store we left, or to keep us there or to get us to visit after camping out elsewhere. Or ONLY releasing the sale prices online that morning or something. Something like airlines do with their extra tickets on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
  6. So many of us have been disappointed with the scanned ads this year, but look at the growth of the online opportunities! Look how many more stores are having special sales for T-Day. Look how many stores are revealing "secrets" or other specials online only, even for in store sales. And CM remains a story. I wonder if in 5 or 10 years we'll even have "ad scans". Will it all be online? or by text alerts? Building up Cyber surprises could help stores build a buzz again, but without the campgrounds and mad dashes that they so hate (and we so love!) They would have the flexiblity to change and react to competitors ads more quickly (we could have short but wonderful price wars!). They could also react to stock levels to keep customers happy. Is the BF of the future going to primarily on online event? Is it inevitable? What do you all think? Which parts of this migration are good and which are bad? Will the lines really go away??
  7. 4am store pickup would be interesting. You'll make quite a few friends among those in line for 5am! I would like to believe they meant 4am Central - meaning in synch with store opening at 5am Eastern. I think it's fastest fingers wins. I would have the item's page up, (possibly refresh right at the sale time) and add to cart immediately. But I could be wrong (or too slow!) Maybe put it into your cart about 5minutes before and then check out at the sale time.
  8. This is great. But I believe that they used to give a $10 gift card to the 1st 100 or so through the doors as well. At least they are moving into the future with us! I wonder if this doesn't go together with what Brad said about central time? Maybe they meant that we can pickup at 4amCentral in the Eastern Time Zone stores???
  9. Gift cards, gift cards, gift cards. No, it's not the same but they let you wait for deals
  10. Our stores ran out of the Acer laptops immediately. The WM website does list the dates for the next "secret sale" as the 23-24 time period. If I remember correctly you can sign up for text alerts on the "secret" website (regular site but add /secret)
  11. Funny cwikel!! Being the WSJ, maybe they should point out that those coupons can be used for leveraged buys of Sears merchandise at Kmart?
  12. Ohio: Last night local weather began warning of a good possibility of a "White Thanksgiving".

    Sam's Club

Last year they had some bagels and water left at about 900. Not much, but still appreciated!
  14. Great to see the Staples ad coming out!! Who is Office Depot? Oh... Office Max? Anyway, it's great to see the Staples ad coming out!!
  15. I think it usually comes out Tuesday of next week. I think I saw a thread where you can check for last years ads to be sure. They sometimes don't put their ad in the Thanksgiving Day paper - they put it in Friday's paper. Hard to prepare for doorbusters! Last year I think it was in Thanksgiving paper though.
  16. I wonder if the posting was a mistake? I subscribe to their emails and I got a message a day or two ago saying to check their web site now for the super sales on Saturday Nov 18, which is a little earlier in the week than they normally post. But those ads were still not posted this morning. Now these show up tonight? Either way, I'm glad they did it. I wish others would do the same. Sad about the no PM change. No film developing sale this year.

    outlet stores ????

Check the website for the outlet mall. For example Prime has an outlet in OH - their website lists a deal - I think for the first 2000 (I think it was that many) to visit the outlet customer service desk get some type of gift bag. I heard about it on the news last year because the highway (Interstate 71) almost became a parking lot.

    Garden Ridge?

Not yet. Don't they stay open for 36 or 48 hours or something?
  19. That's sad. They're getting to be a pain about PM and rainchecks all year too. I guess they can't afford to PM WM. I don't see the film deal they usually run either. Maybe I missed it?
