  1. The RCA is a piece of junk, it is NOT an RCA product, but a cheap piece of garbage made by a Chinese company that bought the rights to use the name, RCA is a dead brand. I repair computers and I have seen many of these that people have brought in to see if it could be fixed and I KNOW that they are junk, do not waste any money on these.
  2. With the total lack of decency on BF, I would advise even healthy people to stay home, the whole thing has degenerated into nothing resembling a good experience anymore, and with the even earlier opening times this year, it even cuts short the time spent with family on Thanksgiving day. Unless you want to descend into a level of behavior that is embarrassing when you look back in hindsight, I would say stay home and show the stores that we want some degree of civility brought back to BF.
  3. Just a dose of the real world, not the fantasy world of shopaholics
  4. The best touchpads, hands down are on the Lenovo(IBM) thinkpads, I sell refurb laptops and the Thinkpad touchpads are the smoothest most precise ones i have ever seen, and although they are higher priced, the Thinkpads will take about any abuse, due to the higher quality materials and construction of them.
  5. Some people must not have to earn a living, thus having all this time on their hands to wait in pointless lines, for so called deals. just think how many kids that will do without you could help with all that extra time to waste on a line and money spent on gas for generators, etc, etc. Lets see......a week in line at Minimum wage of $7.75 per hour times 40 hours.....$310 minimum in lost wages...times people in your group..... WOW with 5 people in your group....that savings you got only cost you $1550 for those BIG savings. Like PT Barnum once said..there's a sucker born every minute...LOL
  6. My plan is to sleep in and stay home, as far as GPS units go I bought a TOMTOM XL330S factory refurb at CompUSA in Brandon, FL for $59 in Sept, they are that price anytime, with full warranty on it, why wait in line for one?
  7. Please think really hard BEFORE you buy the $199 laptops, they are Celeron CPU's that is like a corvette with a lawn mower engine in it. Most kids do gaming and the bargain units are not going to do that very well. go for at least an Intel Core i3 at minimum, an i5 would be even more capable with its enhanced abilities over an i3. Also look at the graphics chip in the unit, if it is an Intel graphics chip it will have limitations also, the better units will have an ATI or Nvidia graphics GPU on board, cheap is always cheap, someone earlier said that their bargain Celeron perfomed just as good as their husbands E8300 dual core, maybe just surfing the web,BUT try some serious multi tasking or gaming and then compare. Also look at the track record of the brand you are buying, HP had a debacle several years back with their DV 2000. 6000. 9000 series with the graphics chip losing connection to the motherboard due to a design fllaw, I have lots of people bring me these to repair them, it can be fixed, but it should not have happened to begin with, just be a smart shopper and don't just jump on something because it is bargain basement priced, there might be a reason they want to dump these on the market really cheap. Caveat emptor !!!
  8. I agree that BB is way overpriced on everything, there are several CompUSA stores in the Tampa area and they have online prices in the stores, the only thing BB is good for is listening to the brainwashed sales people trying desperately to sucker people into buying Monster Cables, which in a digital world are totally a waste of money. There is no way in the world I am going to camp out for a week in front of a store for anything, I could be out making money to buy better stuff for my money. The $198 laptops are Celerons for petes sake, single core sludge pumps, spend some more money and get something with some real power like a intel Core i3 or even better an i5, do not waste money on a Celeron. Thats like buying a Corvette with a lawn mower engine in it.
  9. Nothing I need to buy in any ad this year, I got my daughter and her hubby and little girl a Wii for christmas, but I got it at Costco for $244 on Tuesday, and no one can sell it at a doorbuster price anyways, so I will have a good nights sleep tonight.
  10. me and my GF were first in line at Office Max yesterday, we got there about 2:30 AM,actually went up to the door at 3:15, got what we wanted, they passed out TV certificates about 4:55 and had some left, we didn't go there for the TV. Went to Wal Mart afterward and I was amused by all the people with the soon to be obsolete analog 20" LCD sets in their carts, these are analog sets folks not digital! There just was not a real killer item anywhere this year, it just seemd so bland. Remember folks analog shutdown date IS Feb 17 2009, just over 2 years away. Be very careful what you pay your hard earned money for as far as TV's go.
  11. I find that I can buy most anything cheaper online and with NO rebate to worry about, That video card you bought at BB or CC is cheaper at newegg and with NO rebate crap most of the time.
  12. Maxtors drives have a higher failure rate from my own experience
  13. Wal Mart =$399 bottom line price immediately / CompUSA=pay a lot more and PRAY that your rebate actually gets there someday and have your available shopping funds that day reduced significantly. It don't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out!
  14. CompUsa PLEASE get rid of the rebate trash and just sell it at the bottom line price.
