I bought something at Best Buy on friday that went on sale this sunday. would I be able to take my receipt and get the difference back?

My family has been discussing what to do for christmas as far as gifts go, and it seems to be that they would like to do something like white elephant..but real gifts and not gag gifts.. the problem with this is the interests are pretty divided in the family..the ages range from 50s all the way down to 10..so obviously it would be challenging to figure something out that would be good for everyone. so does anyone have any ideas for things we could maybe do, similar to white elephant without the gag part?

My friend and I went to Circuit City at 1:45 he was trying to get the Xbox 360 arcade bundle, there were about 30 people in line and a few more guys throwin a football and stuff in the parking lot, so we sat in the car for a bit, then we left to get some drinks and came back at 2:30 and got in line until they opened. It rained heavy for a while in the middle and it was generally a wet experience (my first time actually waiting for the store to open on BF), the doors opened and we (with quite a few others) went to the gaming area to find out that THEY ONLY HAD 3 OF THE ARCADE BUNDLE! so all but 3 people were generally upset about that..so my friend just got the premium one and we went back to my house rather disappointed that we stayed up all night for that. By the time the doors opened the line was around the corner of the building. After a quick nap we went to gamestop for him to get some games..I didn't get anything at all today.

Best Buy has a doorbuster bundle with Ratchet and Clank, a good game for a 10yo for $399 which is just the price for the console..that game is very highly rated too.

Halo is an Xbox only game series..so the ps3 won't play it..gotta get an Xbox 360 for Halo 3..If I am understanding you right, sorry if this is not what you meant. I'm pretty tired. Also I have a question..my friend and I are going to brave the cold and rain to try and get him an xbox 360..he wants the $199 arcade with hard drive bundle at Circuit City..will this be something that disappears quick? or could we leave at say..5 or 5:30 and still get one? we are in a suburb of Dallas.

hm I was hoping for something a bit better..I don't really need anything right now for the 3 used games..

Game consoles rarely, if ever, go on sale. and the PS3 will not have a price drop until a rumored one in spring.

I am probably gonna get Endwar for Xbox 360 on BF from BB..could any of the BF vets tell me if I would need to wait in line for something that as a hardcore gamer I can say won't be in huge demand this holiday. Unless I can get a better deal from Gamestop this is what I am going with. I am also not saying I am going at like 11am or anything..I would wake up with the sun probably..6am or so.

You can get a cheap HDMI cable online and that is the highest quality you can get. You figured out the only difference with the Elite coming with an HDMI cable..I also suggest getting the Play and Charge kit for the wireless controllers..it comes with a rechargeable battery pack..it will save him a lot on batteries..

there is currently only one PS3 available to buy new and that is the $399 80gig, it has no backwards compatibility with PS2 games. Only the 60gb, 20gb(?) and the LAST 80gb(Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle) have backwards compatibility with PS2. the current one you will find in stores ($399 80gb) does NOT play PS2 games. if you can find the MGS4 bundle 80gb for a good price I suggest getting that if you want to play PS2 games..it also has 4 USB ports..which is good if you need to charge 4 controllers at once.

yeah I am the same way, I have GH3 and still want the Rock Band bundle for the entire experience.

yeah the people that gave you that information got it backwards..the Rock Band guitar wont work with Guitar Hero. But If you use the GH guitar for Rock Band you are losing a few features like extra fret buttons used for freestyle solo sections in songs and an effects switch.

the 3 year warranty is only for the 3 red lights..which is the biggest problem, but alot of people also have problems with the DVD drives and those are only under a 1 year warranty. not trying to sway anybody away from it, it is an amazing console.

I think the Arcade is the way to go for you, just be sure to get a big memory card for it..if you are really casual you shouldn't need a hard drive. what original xbox games do you have?

you can play MOST original xbox games..at this point most of the big titles are available, I still own some xbox games that I can't play on 360. The Arcade version does not include the 20gb hard drive like the premium or halo 3 consoles, but it comes with 5 free arcade games.

it does, but it is so much easier to just take it back to the store for a new one..I made the mistake to not get the in store warranty and I had to wait 2 weeks for microsoft to fix it.

$349.99 with 2 games is the regular bundle you will find everywhere. wherever you get it be sure to get a warranty plan.

The Elite comes with a 120GB harddrive and is black..all versions now have HDMI, the regular 360 also has a 20GB harddrive and is white, other then that they are the same machines. If it is in the price range the Elite is always the better choice.

all you need for Metroid is the Wiimote and Nunchuk.

The PS3 is aimed at the adult or atleast older teen crowd..the Xbox 360 has a wide range of games (and just games in general..) I own the 360, and I love it, it just recently got the red lights so I have to send it in..but the amount of great games for it just keeps me from trading it in for a PS3..I think having a 360 and Wii is the ultimate gaming combination.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. I think it is the highest rated game on the Wii so far.
