I just can't buy early. i like to shop when I'm listening to Christmas music and my decorations are up (early). I'm wanting consoles so that is the only stressor this year.

I try to get the middle school but there list is extraordinary. Special shoes and game systems, ipods etc. All in all it is over $400. I am the type that try to get you what is on your list and it is hard to spend that kind of money with my first responsibilities. I would love to if I could but...Maybe I am looking at it differently or should get what I am lead to get and what would be most beneficial versus what they ask for.
The person in charge makes sure our lists have a variety of items. Believe it or not, our kids don’t have extravagant things on their lists. Make up, remote cars, gift cards, etc.........

My wife is a teacher in a lower income school. So each year they have a tree with Kids on it (I believe it's called an Angel Tree) and the presents they want/need for Christmas. We usually take a bunch of the names and buy gifts for them. As the days get closer if there are kids left we will get those off the tree and go shopping again. We have been blessed with good careers and I never want to see a child go without.
We do the same. It is an entirely different perspective when you know the kiddos and their families. So many of my middle schoolers are left due to the fact that everyone chooses the younger children.

I understand. It's not the same here either. Most of our traditions are gone just because my kids are older. It is difficult since our family is very small.

Really glad I didn't wake earlier!

No Apple Watch 2?

I'm watching for this too. I remember last year thinking that it was a great time for deals. There are still many links from last year for comparison.

My son is now a college freshman and I was getting depressed about the many changes we have experienced. Our traditions have such meaning and now with him not here, I have not been very excited about the holidays. Well, I have been pleasantly surprised. He has loved being home and eating all my home cooked food. Maybe change is good........

My husband actually did the outside yesterday before Thanksgiving dinner. Couldn't resist the 65 degree weather!

No........Walmart was sold out

I think so. I am not very picky though. I drink the dark roast and my husband drinks the hazelnut. They are cheap so if you don't like them you aren't out $12 which has happened to me.are they good?
I'm not sure??? Sorry! I have the basic model that is not the mini.....Are the Aldi k-cups compatible for use in the 2.0? I know there are some k-cups that I really like at Kroger that are not. I have a 2.0 at home and an older one in my office, so now I only get to have my flavored off-brand k-cups at work.

Aldi's K-cups are cheap!

I really have no ideas this year.DS14 wants an alien laptop but that's not in the budget this year. The only for sure thing I know is the kids will get their season passes for kings island renewed.
My son wanted one too but the price was crazy! Ended up buying him a desktop computer at half the cost of the laptop. Best purchase I ever made!! And that was three years ago..........plays all his PC games just fine.

I really never paid too much attention to the sales. My husband and I are thinking about going since Black Friday has changed so much.
Anyone else go? Best stores to hit?
-
We went out on Friday AM around 6. Loved it. Stores were back to being neat and organized. Great parking and no crowds. Did all my shopping online Thursday. I guess I refuse to give up the true Black Friday tradition.

I work in a school and agree! We are inundated with food items all month long. Soaps, lotions and candles are another tough one with allergies and preferences.
Homemade cards are treasured! While gift cards seem impersonal, even one for $5 is appreciated.
I agree! My favorite gift is the $5.00 gift card I receive from the same family every year. It is from Dairy Queen and I save it until the last day of school. Then I treat myself!

My son is 13. We discovered Loot Crate. (Monthly package delivery of theme related items). Price isn't too bad. He loves it. Make sure you research it first and see if it is something worth your money though........
The last two months have not disappointed! They have had t-shirts.

My kids are 17 and 13. I bought a giant Elf on the Shelf. "He" leaves cheap little gifts on random days in December At first, my kids thought I was losing it, but then they began enjoying it. Even my oldest.........

What items are you hoping to score deals on this year?

Air pods, smaller fridge, and deals on Football cards and memorabilia. Kinda back to where we started years ago with not knowing what we want or need until I see it!
