I get up, get the Turkey in the oven, make breakfast and send an unsuspecting innocent family member to the store to get the paper. I say unsuspecting and innocent because I live in the middle of nowhere, and I don't tell them they have will probably have to go to about 3 different gas stations before getting the paper. After we eat, we spread out the paper and gottadeal print outs and make a plan of attack. Then off to the bar to pre-celebrate the BF rush we are about to get into! (maybe this is why I'm so tired the next day :) )

I vow to try and give online deals a chance because they might be better than offline deals. I'm working on that whole instant gratification, gotta have it my hands this minute thing.

My most memorable Black Friday happened 5 years ago, and it was also my first. I was 7 months pregnant with my son, and my husband and I were broke, broke, broke. I remember some of my co workers mentioning that the best time to shop was the day after Thanksgiving. I had heard of BF before, but really didn't know what it was or what to expect. One of the girls there also mentioned this site, so I got on it. I couldn't believe all the stuff that was going to be on sale was already posted, and I was skeptical of this site. :) Boy was i proven wrong! When the ads finally came out the following week on TG day, I was amazed at how accurate this site was. I had no list, no agenda for stores, nothing but my bff and my 150 bucks that day. I wanted to try it out, see what all the hype was about. Both this site and my love for Black Friday began on that day, even though it was a MESS. Our first store was Best Buy (NEVER AGAIN. I leave it to the pros) I did manage to get a ton of stuff for that 150 bucks and I feel in love with the rush, but I have never been unprepared since. :)

I think you will see some sweet appliance deals, regardless of the government programs or not on Black Friday. I did manage to get the w/d last year from Sears for 599 for the pair, and I have never seen a price like that at any other time of the year. I seriously thought it was a typo at first, but to my pleasant surprise it was not a typo and they delivered next day. If your in the market for fridges and such, definitely keep your eye on Sears. They tend to have the best appliance deals on that day, IMHO.

It depends on the ads, but I never miss TRU, Walmart, or JCPenney. :) They always seem to have the best deals on things that were on my list. I have only been to a Best Buy ONCE on Black Friday. NEVER AGAIN! Lol. It didn't help that at the time I was 7 months pregnant and moody, but I leave that store for the pro's.

My son's portable DVD player that I got for 40 bucks last year at target. He LOVES it and so does mommy when we are on long trips. :)

I haven't really had too much of a problem with TRU in years past, except for the very first time out on BF. Since then, I have a policy: You go to TRU with a buddy, or you don't go. I stick the buddy in the line with a cart, and I do the shopping and bring it back to the cart while they make their way through the line. That way, when I'm done, I'm not at the back of the 2 hour line. :) I know, I know! It's cheating!

I go just for the fun of it and to see the other crazy's out there just like myself! The money I save is a huge bonus too. :)

I'm in the middle of no-where NY, so not a whole lot of lines here to have the need for camping gear. I do bring: My hubbie, brother, and my sis in law BF Ads FANNY pack. (seriously, it's bedazzled and everything with the my nickname "The Dealer of BF 2009. No, I did not make it for myself) Walkie Talkies, good up to 25 miles. (just in case we need to seperate for deals) Cash. (this way I don't go over what I allot for myself) Cell Phone Starbucks That's all I really need, that and a good attitude!

Such a good idea on the gift cards! I have one coming from my cell phone provider soon, and I should just stash it away for the big day!

I'm waiting for a killer deal on a Wii and a new camcorder. I am mostly waiting for the ads to actually get ideas for everyone else though. Sometimes I have an idea of what to get everyone else, but this year, I can only think of stuff I want for myself! lol

I am so glad that I'm not the only one in this world obsessing about this event! I LIVE for Black Friday, it's almost bigger than my birthday celebration. I just added Gottadeal as a fan on FB!! woo hoo! Can't wait for the big day!

I'll be somewhere in the Hudson Valley in New York. It'll either be Middletown or Central Valley, it depends on where the best deals are this year!

This will be my first Black Friday in New York, and I'm expecting that it will be COLD. I'm hoping that it doesn't snow or ice though, because that makes getting around the small towns a little trickier. The last 4 years of BF shopping were spent in Denver, where it was cold, but remained dry. (I just moved back to NY this past April) Who knows what next week will hold for me!

This year, I'm going with my brother and my sister in law. I gave them the BF bug last year, and now and they are hooked. My brother asked me if I wanted to just take one car and we could all drive together, but I said "HECK NO! What are you crazy?!" Last year I had me and one other person in my car, and it was PACKED. I can't fit two more this year, so just me in my Accord. I'll take my son's car seat out this year, and since I'm making my bro drive his own car, I'll use his for extra space. Wonder how I'll break the news to him on that?
