  1. It depends on what the percentage of price guarantee. Here's 2 different break-downs depending if it's 110% or 115% (it's not HUGE savings, but every little bit helps, right?):

    110% Price Guarantee

    Site X = $74.99

    Site Y = $99.95 (Site Y must be the price-matching site)

    Difference = $24.96

    110% = $27.46

    Final Price from Site Y = $72.49

    115% Price Guarantee

    Site X = $74.99

    Site Y = $99.95 (Site Y must be the price-matching site)

    Difference = $24.96

    115% = $28.70

    Final Price from Site Y = $71.25

  2. LOL! Ok - y'all have a good point - those shoes are pretty bad!

Here's a better example (these are my style of shoes)...

    <a href="http://s136.photobucket.com/albums/q165/sillychiky/?action=view&current=shoes1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q165/sillychiky/shoes1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Beverly Feldman Women's Play-Along Platform Pump

    Amazon price = $52.49

    Shoes.com price = $174.99

    $122.50 difference

    122.50 * 115% = $140.88

    $174.99 - $140.88 = $34.12 Final Price

Beverly Feldman Women's Amazing T-Strap Pump

    Amazon price = $68.99

    Shoes.com price = $229.99

    $161.00 difference

    $161.00 * 115% = $185.15

    $229.99 - $185.15 = $44.84 Final Price

There's a lot more cute ones, and I'd love to post them, but I gotta get up and go to work.

Regarding the shipping question - I have Amazon Prime and I just tell them that, but sometimes there are shoes on Amazon from another retailer when Prime doesn't cover the shipping charges - that's when I add the shipping amount to the price of the shoes.

  3. This is how I order almost all of our shoes now - I learned it from another web site several months ago and have saved a lot of money on some great shoes.

    Zappos.com and Shoes.com have a 110% and 115% price guarantee respectively.

If you find shoes you want on any web site, check Zappos.com and Shoes.com for the same shoe. If the same shoes are more expensive on Zappos.com/Shoes.com, order them from Zappos.com/Shoes.com, and then call for a price match. The representative will ask for the web site name to verify the price difference. NOTE: The shoes have to be the EXACT same color and size (so if you buy 8M and all that Amazon has is 8W then NO price match.)

They take the difference between their full price & the cheaper price you found on another site & multiply it by 110/115. They credit your account that amount.

    Example:

    <a href="http://s136.photobucket.com/albums/q165/sillychiky/?action=view&current=shoes4.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q165/sillychiky/shoes4.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Charles by Charles David Women's Carumba Flat

These shoes on Amazon = $20.98 Size 6M, green (I know - not the most beautiful shoe)

    Same shoes on Shoes.com = $91.99 Size 6M, green

    $91.99 - 20.98 = $71.01 price difference

    $71.01 * 115% price guarantee = $81.66 credit

    $91.99 - 81.66 = $10.33 Final price of shoes

If Amazon has a shipping charge, that amount is added to the price of the shoes, so the shoes plus shipping amount is used to calculate price difference / price guarantee.

Amazon had a huge shoes clearance a while back and I got several brand name shoes for 90+% off. You can start here for an entry into the clearance zone based on your size.

I hope I wrote that so it is clear and is not too confusing. I have saved so much money from gottadeal.com - I hope I can help someone else save, too! (I could not find this “process” previously posted, but sorry if it's a duplicate.)

  4. Do you have any idea how long the AG office takes to resolve complaints of this nature?

I second the idea kaysamlyss mentioned earlier to contact your local news station so they can do one of those "On Your Side" type of stories. The ones I've seen always contact the local store AND corporate. In addition, the consumer (i.e. you) gets their issue resolved, and the local public is made aware of the situation with that merchant.

Good luck and keep us posted. (I have no idea why this story interests me - I'm not in RI, and if I purchase an item with a MIR, I almost always fail to send it in!)

  5. Well said, madisonsmommy. Personally, I find that lesson a far better one than encouraging return fraud.

If I understand correctly, she wasn't encouraging the boys to do anything dishonest by trying to "return" the game for full credit. The boys just wanted to know how much in-store GameStop credit they could receive for the sealed game (GameStop has a trade-in program to trade in your games for less than the value of the game to use on future GameStop purchases).

Had the employee mentioned he needed to open the game/seal, the boys could have made the decision to return the game Target for cash (or store credt) if they wanted. Now they don't have that option.

  6. Yes my local best buy would not accept it for anything, The cashier could not even seem to find any item that would scan for the discount. I asked to see a manager to get an explanation as to why they would provide a rewardzone member a coupon that could not be used. When I asked for a list of toys that the coupon could be used for I was told they couldnt provide that and was asked to leave.

Aaaah, Best Buy customer service at it's finest...

  7. sheesh! i just ordered 5 sets of sheets!! i love it and hate it at the same time!!!

i ordered 3 satin sets and 2 of these sets (one in brown, one in blue):

  8. I would definately use the two gift cards to buy three gifts, or if it's not enough for three gifts, stick grandpa's name on a gift you got for the 3rd one that didn't get a card (I know you got a TON of stuff from Amazon - I've been reading those posts!). :)

I recently found out that my Dad used to get us gifts and put tags on them like they were from my Mom. Wow - the respect I have for him for ignoring his ill feelings towards my mom so that we would not feel bad that she forgot us again - very unselfish!

  9. As a person that used to be in the same situation as your friend, I strongly suggest to NOT give them to her with your name on them. The stress of not having money around Christmas time is unbelievable, and the guilt and embarrassment of having people buy things for your kids because you can't is awful.

I really like the idea of getting them to her anonymously. It's a win-win solution!

  10. Everyone of all ages gets a can of silly string (canned string) and every year we act like we're gonna wait til after we eat breakfast to have the spray-off, but someone inevitably starts the silly string fight within minutes of starting to open stockings. everyone tears open their cans and it's string WAR for a few minutes.

the little kids usually run from the room screaming while the big "kids" steal their cans of string.

    Lotsa fun.

    Lotsa mess.

    Lotsa good family memories.
