Baton Rouge would be a good place to shop. If you feel like driving a bit further, Lafayette also has some great stores (I am nearby). Lots of great stores there, and would still keep the sales in Louisiana (where it is needed).

RossMan -- a big thank you from this Cajun gal! This website is one I developed in collaboration with several Louisiana disability organizations to provide disability specific information for those with disabilities and their families from Louisiana who have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Everyone affected by Katrina has been hard hit. For those with disabilities and their families, it is even harder. As someone in Louisiana (who fortunately didn't feel the hurricane), a big thank you to anyone and everyone who has helped any of those affected by Katrina.

Another question -- I just recently moved to a new location in the same city. Appears that there are some areas around here that the reception is either poor or dead. Are there phones that have better reception?

I never knew so much about cell phones - LOL I had taken my phone to a Centennial provider before to see if I could use the phone with them. The sales person there said that the phone was specifically programmed for Cingular. Since the phone has the SIM card, then that would mean that the phone is unlocked -- correct?

How is locking/unlocking done? What does the locking do?

Brad, by changing the SIM card, would I still need Cingular to do anything with it? One of the things that is wrong with my current phone is the on/off buttons missing

I'm in my contract till June 2005. How would I know if mine is GSM?

Zip is 70570 and I would like to spend less than $75 if possible. My current cell is a Nokia 6340i and Cingular says I can't get an upgrade. I dropped this one a few times and it got messed up. I would have to pay at least $170 to get a new phone through them.

I need a good deal on a cell phone (even a refurbished one) that I could use with Cingular. Thanks! Karen
