  1. Congrats! I managed to get two of the 7" tablets. Kept hitting the refresh button until the price changed and then checked out. They were sold out within 7 or 8 min. They may be a piece of junk, but at least I can try them and return them if I don't like them. Got them for my 9 and 11 year olds so Im not too picky. They like iPod touches but these are more within the price range I'm willing to spend for them right now. Lori P. :)
  2. My son just told me not to get the short ones cause they go really fast and they're meant for racing. He said the longer ones are meant for beginners. Not saying not to order cause this looks like a good deal, just be aware that there are two kinds, according to my son.
  3. Hi! TNDimples! Where are you going to be at 5 AM? lol Lori P. :)
  4. Belk must be buying out everyone! They just took over all the Proffitt's stores here in Chattanooga. Haven't heard that they'll take Parisian here. Hope not. Lori P. :)
  5. I'll be in Chattanooga, TN. (And yes, I've heard of Fuquay Varina. I'm from Ahoskie, NC over in the northeast corner. We didn't, and still don't, have a mall there, so we always went to Chesapeake VA, Greenville, NC or Rocky Mount, NC to shop for the holidays.) Lori P. :)
  6. They also have wireless controllers for Gamecube. Thanks for the post. These were on my shopping list, and I thought I would be spending $50 for 2, now I was able to get 4 for $50!!! Lori P. :)
  7. Thanks! Just took care of some Christmas gifts. Great deal! Lori P. :)
  8. One of the perks of being a teacher...I never have to worry about having that day off. We even have the day before Thanksgiving off too! Lori P. :)
  9. We go at it a different way. We have told our kids that even though Santa delivers the gifts on Christmas Eve, Mommy and Daddy have to pay for them. We tell them that we discuss "things" with Santa before Christmas, and he brings what we 'put in a order for". I know some people may think that's silly, but it takes care of the question that most kids have of "Why does Santa give some kids hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of stuff and some kids get nothing?" It also takes care of the question that you asked about how to differentiate gifts from parents and Santa. In our house, they're from both. It's worked well for us. Lori P.:)
  10. Other than the Christmas after my dad died (1997), I remember when I was 12 and my dad had his first heart attack. Not only did my dad spend the Christmas holidays in the hospital, my brother and I had to spend all our time at relatives' houses. I HATED staying at my aunts. My mom came home Christmas Eve night and played Santa to us that night, but the next morning, after we saw what Santa had brought for us, we had to pack up a few things and go back to whoever we were staying with. My entire Christmas vacation consisted of sitting in the back bedroom at my aunt's, teaching myself to type on an old typewriter that didn't have the letters printed on the keys. I missed my family soooo much. Lori P. :)
