  1. Re: Scrapbooking stuff Most of the markdowns here are 30%, on stickers and paper. I am looking for a Xyron machine, though . I saw the cupcake scrapbooking stuff marked down this week, 30%. Most of it was cleaned out, only one pack of paper left. jorjenb , do you want it even if it's only 30% off? I can go back and check for it. My area is slowwwwwwww with some of these markdowns. Most of the bedding is about 50%, but I've been waiting 3 weeks for it to be marked 75% off. Another Target literally 5 minutes down the street went 75% off 2 weeks ago. Not a whole lot is left, but I saw the Isaac Mizrahi green polka dot sheets 75% off last week. There were a lot of them at the time, but I haven't seen any since the weekend. I will check a couple more Targets today. They do have new Simply Shabby Chic and Fieldcrest Luxury bedding out. The new Fieldcrest Luxury stuff is not as pretty, I think. I just need some pillowcases and shams!! We still have Burt's Bees school kits and baby kits for like, only 50% off. Haven't most other Targets gone 75% off on this stuff already? As for lamps and small furniture, I am pretty sure it is marked down on Mondays. Very few of the markdown schedules I see online show furniture, but a couple years ago, I walked in right after the chickie had done the markdowns and I got some really great finds. It was a Monday. I think lamps and frames and gifts and that whole area should be Monday as well. The mirrored stuff looks Shabby Chic, but I never checked to see if it was Shabby Chic line. However, I did notice the same kind of mirrored stuff in the bath accessories in the Shabby Chic line - that stuff went 75% off either yesterday or the day before. If you are looking for other Shabby Chic furniture, the bath furniture area has a "floor cabinet" that makes a nice low little bookshelf. Those were clearanced. I have been looking for an etagiere, but either they were not marked down or they are all gone. The stuff coordinates with the BIG furniture (bookcase, armoire, dresser, etc.) in the regular furniture section if anyone is looking to match the stuff.
  2. Whoa. Salvaging GB already? Salvaging GB returns as well? That's crazy. They must really want the stuff out of there. I know GB has gone 90% off in the past (I got a huge, carved frame mirror - at least 3'x4' for $14.98) but I think the seasonal-type clearances have been a little different the past couple years. It peeves me a bit that automatic clearances are not so straightforward and automatic anymore! I am still so bummed about the cupcake photo clips . Anyhoo :). I was very busy yesterday and didn't get a chance to hit any Targets. MOST of the stuff I wanted (sheets) I already got at several Targets. There wasn't much from GB that I wanted, and I honestly didn't see too much big furniture (where I think the best deals are) left after the first couple weeks or so. People (despite the economy) seem to still be buying this stuff. Most of what I saw left on the shelves the last couple weeks has been decorative items, and throw pillows, and the smaller stuff. There were some of the big tall bamboo vases left. And some non-descript-looking wool rugs (5'x'8'). I hear those things shed CONTINUALLY, much more than even a typical wool rug. Will make some rounds today and see what there is to see. :)
  3. Re: alligator pump bottle, etc. The alligator things were Valentine's towels, linens, etc. and should be 90% off (unless the Valentine's stuff is ringing up $0.00 today already). The only other things I recall seeing were some plushy hand towels and fingertip towels, squishy pillow (I saw a few of these the last couple days, all over the store in random places - gifts aisle, bedding, seasonal, all over!) and picture frames. They had the 4x6 rectangular frames, and also alligator-shaped figural photo clips. Oh, they also had school cafeteria-like divided trays, but I haven't seen those for a while. I don't think they had any matching shower curtains, I think Target just had the one multi-colored heart vinyl shower curtain. It's possible there were also some plastic cups with the alligator theme in the seasonal dining stuff, but I can't remember since I haven't seen them for so long. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but some of the Hot Hues card-making and stationery card kits and embellishments were scanning 90% off (more of the brown craft paper stuff than the white stuff). The rest was red-tagged 30%. The other scrapbooking kids and things (the stuff by Kay) was still regular price, about $3.99 or so. I was bummed because I had a set of like, 6 cupcake-shaped figural photo clips in my hand last Friday that no one was buying because they were on the picture frame endcap with a sign "$5 until 2/16", but they were scanning with the rest of the Valentine's stuff 50% off. I hid them and this Target must have some overnight shelf-Nazis because my entire stash was cleaned out! Don't forget to check the pets aisle for other Valentine's stuff, though, I found some doggie squeak toys (more cupcakes!!) and they had some pastry-themed cat toys. I've also read of people buying the little doggie costumes and using them for their daughter's stuffed teddy bears and stuff, or the pink kitty ruffle for a teddy bear tutu. For 50¢, why not . HTH!
  4. I got lucky and found some bedding stuff a few months back, when there was free shipping with $75 purchase or something. The stuff I bought was YEARS old, though, I remember it clearancing out nearly two years ago in the fall. And the only reason I was even looking online was because I found something from the line at the thrift store for an awesome price, and wanted to see if target.com had any left. It does seem that they are much more reserved with clearance and lots of stuff ends up being shipped back to headquarters or whatever, to be sold for full price on the website even when it clearanced at 75% off or what-have-you. Goodwill is like that too, now, with holiday clearance - they hold it for a year and then sell it next year. I was very very happy to find a cupcake pillow for $2.99 yesterday, though!!! Those things are like totally sold out here in the stores. Anybody see those cupcake cookie jars around still? I haven't found any of the 30-pack Charmin, and I did see some Life cereal, but it was only 15% off! Even the Burt's Bees stuff was 30%-50% off, and that last week. I'm kind of glad I'm not finding amazing things that I love, left and right, because I'm out of room and the wallet could use a rest!
  5. This is a really nice deal! Thanks. I'm at Chipotle at least once a week (weekly lunch thing). I'll stop by and get a few gift cards this week and go back next week. :yup:
  6. BeckaT, Penelope, and fluffkin79, re: Hello Kitty stuff - not sure if you'd already seen this, but in the Valentine's mini-seasonal (up by groceries, near the front of the store, for me), they have sets of 4 Hello Kitty Pez dispensers in a metal lunchbox tin. They are pretty cute. I think they are $9.99 now, but Valentine's stuff does go 90% off if you want to keep an eye on it. They would be an adorable party favor!! Y'all are making me want to check out sporting goods clearance and hunt around for some bulk diaper packs, too. Off to check if any more bedding was marked down this week!
  7. moonryder125 , you asked about furniture markdowns in the last thread? Not sure if this will help you, but here in Southern California I stumbled upon a GREAT furniture clearance last year and that was Monday. I asked the girl who helped me take a flatbed cart of stuff to the front, and she said she was working the department and had just marked everything down earlier that day. Anything in particular you're looking for? I mostly am seeing little stuff marked down, like a few end tables. I have seen a few big boxes being brought out, but they were only 3o% off as well, down to about $229.xx or so. Not sure if they were the dining hutches or what-have-you. I checked out a local Target last night and there were loads of markdowns in Bedding. I didn't find anything in Baby, most of it had already been reset. I think there was one changing table that was 50% off, $39.98. A few appliances (a gray Foreman grill and a rice cooker) were 30% off, and almost the entire aisle of dishes had clearance tags and stickers, as were the picture frames. I love this time of year for home stuff :). Oh yes, I also saw in a Stationery Endcap some 12x12 (and a few 8x8) stacks of scrapbooking paper marked 30% off, so scrappers might want to keep an eye on it if it goes down further. Originally $9.99.
  8. jenbui, lucky! I love the scrapbooking stuff, it's really cute. And you can't beat 90% off. I grabbed a couple things when it went 50% off and was able to go back and find a stash at 90% off, but scrapbooking stuff flies off the shelves in this area, regardless. Bummer. There is some adorable Christmas stuff that I have my eye on, though. btvsfreak, niccci, and online_assistan, re: hiding stuff till it goes to 75% off- Unless it's seasonal (a.k.a. automatic) clearance (such as Halloween, where there are no price stickers on the items to show how much it is marked down), the markdown team has to scan that particular DPCI or barcode to manually mark it down. If they don't scan the item (at least one of the item, since they don't have to scan every single item with that barcode int he store - and sometimes I think they can also scan the shelf tag), then it won't be marked down and will stay at the last price they DID scan it for. Does that make sense? I try to leave at least one out of stuff I'm hiding so they have a chance to scan it down. The cashier that insisted it was still $14.98 probably was right, and lots of cashiers don't always know how the clearance system works anyway, if they haven't worked it. They should be able to look up the price that it last sold for at the register, or sometimes they call someone with a PDT. There's only been a couple times where I've hidden something at 30% off and gone back weeks and weeks later, without seeing any other of that item, and it's been 75% off. I don't know if EVENTUALLY stuff does go down to 75% off, right before salvage or something. I got lucky, though, it was a 320G Western Digital external hard drive for $37.48!! It really really really does depend on the person, though. I've occasionally been told that I can't buy something if the price doesn't come up in the system, and often enough I've also just been able to tell the cashier how much it is supposed to be. It's a bit of a crap shoot and sometimes you have to time it just right. Keep checking, though, sometimes stuff appears out of nowhere after weeks!
  9. I have seen Leapster games at Big Lots as well - between $15 to $17 (not a super discount, unfortunately), and Goodwill gets lots of Target salvage stuff so it may pay to check there also. I usually see them in a glass case at the register, if they have the glass cases. That's the cheapest I've ever seen a Leapster, too, is at a Goodwill - $7.99!!! That is for the actual system. It won't be in time for Christmas, but Target has a big toy sale every January and two years ago, red Leapsters were clearancing after Christmas for $14.98. The other big sale is in July/August and I was able to get lots of games for $6.24 each. Not that it helps much, but the pink Leapster L-Maxes were $22.48 then too. I'm just posting this in case you want to keep looking for games for Leapsters you already have, or for birthdays, etc. The Target sales are pretty predictable. I seem to also remember that Kohl's has really decent Black Friday and pre-Christmas sales, so it might be worth a shot. None of the Kohl's around me ever have Leapsters, though - not that I have seen lately, anyway. HTH!!
  10. :cheesy: I guess in my experience with the red/white clearance tags is, markdown team doesn't touch them. So, whatever that tag says is what it's gonna stay, since I've never seen it get marked down any more once they put that tag on it. Sometimes the tag itself is a 50% - 85% markdown already, though. If you've seen further markdowns, you're so lucky!! Actually, I see that tag the most on clearance clothing in the baby section, when sets get separated and they individually price an item from a set. It's not usually a big enough discount to make me get it, but sometimes it is - 75% off or more. I think 50% off is a decent deal, but if your niece is not sure she wants it, hold off on it for now, I'd say. Whee, another Target today. :)
  11. Would it be worth it to check the regular aisles to see if any of the clearanced stuff mysteriously found its way there??? And, if you feel ethically inclined, you could hide the stuff in plain view next time . School supplies 75% off today, yippee. I didn't bother checking yesterday so I don't know if they marked it down yesterday or today, but I'm pretty sure it was today because of how much was left. Was looking for Funtainers and found a couple that I liked - Pirates of the Caribbean. Great great Post-It office supplies and stuff, and I got a class set of rulers for 6¢ each. Whee!! Also a half dozen packs of the Sharpies (part of Christmas present for fellow teachers). Lots of markdowns in Domestics - throw pillows, drapes and curtains, and bedding. I got a F/Q quilt for $12.48. Also 50% off to 75% off in lamps and lighting, 50% off so far in frames. Calphalon sets only 30% off!! Another Target is already 50% off but 75% is much much better. Lots of stationery (card sets, and some of the print-at-home wedding invites, place cards, and gift-box type stuff 30% off. Gift wrap/bags went straight to 50% off today, from what I could tell. It is a pretty good deal! Dollar Spot stuff goes 75% off (on a Thursday) every 6 weeks or so, though, so it can be an even better deal!!! (It goes 50% off on a Sunday, first, then that Thursday will be 75% off. The next Sunday will be the last day they have the Dollar Spot stuff out for 75% off before they reset the section for the next cycle.) I was DYING for some more Hello Kitty stuff so I actually bought a few things at the 99¢ store when I saw it - I think single ice packs. The cute stuff never lasts at Target anymore, not around here at least. On online returns, I don't think it usually gets marked down any further. Was it a regular little red markdown sticker, or was it one of the longer red and white ones? The longer red and white ones are the last price, for the most part. And lately, half the time it's a higher price than what I last saw it at . Will check another Target tomorrow to see what other school stuff I can score!
  12. I just wanted to offer a suggestion!! On INF (or NOF) items, it is totally worth it to take the markdown sticker off if it's not at 75% off already. I have done this a few times. Usually the policy is, if it doesn't ring up at the register, they will key in the price from the last clearance sticker. If there is no clearance sticker, they look it up in the system for the last price for which it sold - often 75%, or if you're lucky, 90% off in the one or two days after seasonal stuff salvages. Almost always, the price they have to look up at the register or with a PDT will be lower. It is a bit of a risk, though, because once or twice I've had an item ring up at full price - usually it's been an item which is clearance at one store but not at another, and it's a very recent clearance. On Saturday, I found a manky old Disney Princess ice pack (didn't these come in a two-pack?) in a beat-up ziploc bag with one of those pink "needs info" tags taped to it. I tried to tell the cashier that it should have been at least 75% off Dollar Spot items, but she then informed me that she was a team lead or floor manager or something and knew the proper policy of not selling anything that didn't ring up. This is maybe the 3rd time that this has ever happened to me; usually they don't mind looking up the price or even making one up, depending on the cashier. It's a bummer if they start to do that though, because I kind of think - if I can find it on the floor after it's supposed to have been pulled, and you can look up the price, I should be able to buy it! lovetoshopCA, you are one dedicated poster! Thanks for checking so often and posting your finds. Is SoCal 75% off school supplies yet? I did also find some cute baby clothing at 75% off (not much left though, I think it cleared out last week or the week before) and there is Burt's Bees 4-pack of lip shine, or something like that. I got a couple at 50% off and found one pack marked 75% off, but 3 of the glosses were missing . Other than that, if anyone is looking for a good (if not terribly quiet) showerhead, the Oxygenics one is 50% off now. A couple months back I got a few at 75% off and they do work really well, I like them a lot. You might want to keep an eye out for them at 75% off, it was $12.48. Lots of flashlights also 50% off now, just waiting for 75% off!
  13. Hello! I love sites like these. I found another similar site a couple years back, which was recently blocked by my work, so I needed a fix from a replacement! I've been lurking for a few weeks but finally felt inspired to post by the recent Happy Summer clearance at the big red bullseye! I mostly shop at Target, but am now fully addicted to Big Lots, Michael's, and the Dollar Tree as well! Ask me about Tarrrrrrget! It's like a dirty secret, my family is so confuzzled by my obsession. But I find stuff like wood cabinets made in India for $7.50, and king-size feather mattress covers for $17.48, and other 90% off goodness, and I'm right back on that horse! It's a friendly bunch here, so I hope to be more active!!
  14. Re: Happy Summer (Hey there, everyone; I'm new to the site but a diehard Target clearance game addict!!) Summer stuff DOES go 90% off (like Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, etc.) but only for 2 days. Then it will show on the scanner as $0.00 (meaning recently purged from the system - if you find an accomodating team member, they will look up the list price and sell it at that) and after that, it will show "Item Not Found." Sometimes they will sell INF items and sometimes they will not. Usually by 90%, they have cleared out the seasonal aisles and reset them, so most items that you'll find at this point are mis-shelved with the regular items and you just need to look for the Happy Summer line tags. Seasonal stuff is an automatic markdown in the computer system so it won't have red tags; your best bet is just to scan it! lovetoshopCA (have I seen you on another site, btw?? ), denaults, and ManiacShopper, here's my experience with the markdown schedules: Stuff that starts out at 15% off usually maxes out at 50% and doesn't go to 75% off. It's usually 15%-30%-50%. These things aren't marked down as regularly, I think, so it can go for over a month at the same clearance before being marked down again. I usually see these in the electronics department and food, likelovetoshopCA said. Most clearance is 30%-50%-75%. I noticed about 3 weeks in between markdowns. They do mark down pretty much every week, unless it's a slow time of year like the last couple months have been. They do specific departments every day of the week, and don't mark down items in those departments until the day for which it's regularly scheduled. Off the top of my head, according to the stuff that I personally find more interesting and compelling, electronics and furniture is Mondays, Domestics (Bedding, etc.) is Thursday, etc. I know there are schedules that you can find online. EVERY once in a while I have come across an 85% off item (a pillow sham once, and some electronics stuff). Usually it'll be marked further down because it's not selling well. I've also recently noticed (in the past year) that stuff will clearance out of one store but not out of another one, even just down the street, if it's not selling well. I noticed this with Simply Shabby Chic storage and organization stuff that was in the closet aisles. That stuff clearanced straight to 50% at one Target about a month and a half ago, whereas the other one 2 miles away still has it all, and for full price. Sometimes you will see a longer clearance tag with the barcode printed on a strip of white across the middle of the tag. These are usually items that were ordered online and returned to the brick and mortar store, or else items found loooooong after they first clearanced out, or items returned from a different Target where they were a different price, or items (such as clothes) missing a part. These are totally hit or miss but are usually a pretty good deal. Lastly, regarding the seasonal clearances, it used to be that the clearances were on set days (such as Dec. 26 for Christmas clearance) and followed a set sequence - 1 week at 50% off, then 3 days at 75%, two days at 90%, etc. Target has stopped following the schedule like that now, so clearances will vary widely from store to store. Especially, for seasonal stuff, the actual start date of the big seasonal clearance is all over the place. A lot more stuff is YMMV now. I hope this helps!!
