Who knew, [emoji2368] i didnt mind spending extra but apparently sales guy had no clue what he was doing. I was told exactly what you just said when i went today. I had no idea about motion rates n such. Guess i gotta find another deal now. Sad thing is i didnt even need a new tv just wanted one. Oh well.thxs for your help.

  2. Well, I disagree...a lot.  Browse the TV deals.  $750 for a Samsung 75" 4K tv is not good enough?  Look at the computer bargains.  HP 17.3" Laptop Core i5, 8GB, 256GB for $400 isn't good enough?  Echo Shows are $50 at Kohls plus you get $15 in Kohls Cash.  The problem is not that the deals are not good.  The problem is that the deals are not RARE.  If you don't get it BF, check in Cyber Monday or Prime Days.  Or check online.  I bought a PC last week and a NuWave Primo Convection Oven with Grill Plate & Temperature Probe this morning (which is the real reason I will be stopping into Kohls on BF).  Plus we are not as hungry as we once were.  I might be in line for that Samsung TV if I didn't already have a 60" plasma in the living room.  I'm full.

Product saturation at home and the availability online is key. it absolutely kills the incentive to camp for that once rare deal. This year will be year two of shop but not camp for me. Best Buy continues to spread the deals out over the weekend and it destroys the incentive (and free advertising) to camp.

  3. Now that all of the major ads have been released, what is your game plan? Do you camp or is that a thing of the past? Did product saturation strike and leave you feeling numb like you already have anything and everything? Do you consider camping out a physical thing(tents, supplies, etc) or merely lining up extra early? What time and where do you plan to line up? Lets discuss our plans!

  4. Vudu is the place but speculation has it that it may be for sale, leaving many worried about purchases. That being said, a safer alternative for now exists, Movies Anywhere. iTunes is also great for upgrading hd movies to 4k for free if you have the code. There are 4k sheets that are a roadmap for redemption. Other services are out there and I would be happy to assist you further, even on our discord server.

We have started a digital collection, mostly 4K. I am hoping to really stock up this year, although, it may depend on how good Disney+ turns out. We love everything Marvel, Pixar and Disney. Can anyone advise the best place for digital? We have been using VUDU.

    Thanks!

I am testing out that very player right now.

For those thinking about movies, if you have a 4K tv, you should really be buying 4K movies or at least blu-rays. The only reason to buy DVDs is if it’s not available on the other formats (such as TV shows). IMO you are missing out on what your TV has to offer. For Black Friday this year, Target and Best Buy will be offering the Sony 4K (X700) player for $129.99. If you own a 4K TV, you really need one of these (IMO ;) ).

  5. We bought a 58 inch Samsung smart tv at Sams Club Saturday during their one day sale. Paid $389. The picture is beautiful. The only downside is we are unable to use our sound bar with it. When the sound bar is plugged in the audio will not sync and that drives me nuts. Through a lot of trial and error we fixed the problem when we took the sound bar off. Thought I would share in case anyone else has an issue.

Did you turn off your internal speakers? Are you using a toslink (optical) cable? Did you set it to PCM?

  6. Ok i have a question, went to BB to get the 58in Samsung and guy told me the LGUM69 60in was a better tv same price so i got it. Tv looks great pic looks great until... Football, picture looks pixelated. Hubby said something about tv not having a return? Why does screen look like crap when the players are running around?

Is this the one you bought? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-60-class-led-um6900pua-series-2160p-smart-4k-uhd-tv-with-hdr/6362419.p?skuId=6362419

If so, it is a 60hz panel and uses trickeration to get to 120hz. This argument goes back for years and has been debated. 60hz are generally not the best for watching sports and as Len indicated it will also depend upon the garbage (cough, NFL) fed to your set. I use a true 120hz panel with trickeration to get it to 240hz. Worth the extra dime to get all of the perks.

  7. Does anyone have any suggestions for a standard laptop for a teacher? My girlfriend wants a new laptop that she can do work on and also store lots (and lots) of photos on. I’m not so good at picking out stuff like this. Any suggestions?

I would go for an I5 with both an SSD and a 1TB for lots of storage! They tend to come with at least 8GB of ram and are good for having multiple screens up. 17.3 on page 1 of the staples ad is $399 no SSD. The Dell of page 5 is also $399, smaller screen but has the ram, SSD and large HD.

  8. Don't know what verification system Amazon's using, but it rightly sux.  I ETS'd in Dec. '79 after 7 years in.  Yet, Amazon just cannot seem to find my vet. status anywhere.  Odd....got the PX Exchange to verify me in what seemed like seconds.  Amazon.....three tries on the website with only error messages.....email is just slow torture.  Been waiting for hours for a verification response myself from Amazon.  Lost in limbo.

Go back and say YES to the active question and it will go through. I did just that after they failed to send me an email. The time left on your current subscription will be automatically extended, so you lose nothing and gain an extra year.

  9. The Sony 4K Blu-ray player with Dolbyvision UBPX700 is at the Black Friday price of $129, same as Amazon and Best Buy. I was able to use my veteran discount, redcard discount and a $2 giftcard to get it down to $116 total after shipping was calculated. Thanks Target!

  10. Sales are live for the preview ad. I just purchased a heated throw and was pleased that both the redcard discount and the buy two get one free on movies applied to this sale as well. So the three bluray movies ordered worked out to be about $5.70 each.
