  1. I work for Target and have been on OUR bourd for a while now. The original post was about one specific guest who i did have the honor of being annoyed by. The gripe wasn't that she used cupons but the amount of them she used, and her overall attitude. Cupons are great I use them myself, but too many people abuse them. Using 70 cupons to get 70 items for free is only legal because it is a loophole. The 1$ off copun was made so that you could get that larger package of something a lttle bit cheaper, not so that you could buy 70 newspapers and get 70 smaller sized ones. Yes you can do it, but you shouldn't. Same for internet coupons. Don't you think there is a reason you need to supply an email address? Its so that you only get ONE coupon. As for the money we do or don't get we really don't care, its the fact of the matter. I work the electronics dept of my store as a specialist so I don't deal with the coupons like some do, but I deal with people who come in and check the price of every item on my shelves trying to find anything with an inncorrect price. Why? Because in my state if a food item is marked incorrectly you have to give it to them for free. So people will come in and try to abuse that by trying to use it on a 1000$ TV and try to get 7 of them. Ad signs are another issue. If we miss a sign when we do our takedown and someone finds it they raise such a fuss that we have to give it to them at that price, legaly we don't because our signs clearly have dates on them. But people don't care about these things they just want something for nothing. If you want to spend 4 hours clipping coupons from the paper cause your budget is tight go for it I respect that, but don't try to beat the system just to get extras. The customer is the reason we have jobs, but that doesn't mean they are always right, or should be able to get their way because they throw a temper tantrum like some little 5yo. We have the right to restrict quantities on anything we carry and we also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone we want to. Those rules aren't there so that if we are having a bad day we can make yours bad too. They are there to protect you, and try to insure that you can get what you want. Too many people abuse the system and that is why we have to impose such rules. You all claim its your right to get 30 candy bars for free cause you got 30 coupons but what about the guy behind you? Coupns are becoming a nightmare because of it and they are going the way of the return policy. If people don't stop abusing them less stores will honor them.
