  1. You're comparing apples to oranges. Food & beverage is different than hard goods. I have NO idea why you'd try to compare a restaurant that "gives" away water to a hard goods or other manufacturer. BUT, if we're talking about "giving away", GM does give away Onstar on select vehicles for a year. Other vehicle manufacturers give away satellite radio, etc. Wal-Mart has been known to give away extended warranties. Costco does the same thing with their own warranty that they offer on everything they sell. Caterpillar "gives away" free factory authorized trainings and seminars. So does Intel and Microsoft. And Microsoft gives away free trial versions of their software. Body shops give free estimates. Gyms give free trial memberships. Jewelry stores give away free ring cleanings, and sometimes sizings. And on and on. Just because you don't eat or drink it doesn't mean it doesn't have value. Oh, and the biggie - many broadcasters "give away" free programming in the way of RADIO and TV. But people will still complain about the amount of commercials. OH, AND THIS FORUM IS FREE FOR ALL OF US.

    Quit acting so magnanimous.

    Well said!

  2. I just got an set of LG's and I really like them. You're using a lot less water and energy, and without the agitator, I can wash double the amount of clothes each time. You can press the "pause" button and it will unlock if you forget something. As far as bending, I just make myself comfy on the floor to switch from washer to dryer! :)
  3. I called Friday morning and they said it was still 75%. After I got home and checked the board, I called back and they said 90%!?!?! My big 90% score was: ballerina barbie ($.49), 4 white dishes with a Silver Snowflake in the center ($1.99), these were hidden behind "regular" dishes in the dish aisle, and 3 dark (wicker?) baskets that were $1.99 and $2.99, regularly $19.99 and $29.99, and a reed diffuser in the candle aisle for $1.99. I did get a bunch of wrapping paper and some Command strips, and a 6ft tree for $1.99. :) :) :)
  4. I am SO aggrivated with Kohl's right now. I ordered 3 throws, (2 snowflake and 1 gingerbread man) and a few other things on December 1st. 1 throw and another item shipped about a week ago. I emailed them 3 times (still waiting on a response) and called twice to find out today that my other 2 throws have been cancelled. (They promised delivery on these by this monday, repeatedly.) These were teachers gifts and I had other things centered around these throws. This was my first and LAST order with Kohls. Too much trouble to spend my $$ with them, I've never seen such pitiful customer service!

UPDATE: I was able to get a supervisor that has a brain and she was able to give me better quality throws cheaper than what I originally ordered and do priority shipping. I get the box today, WRONG STUFF!!!!:yuck: Kohl's shipping department sucks!

  6. I saw this one on sale in the JCPenney Toy Catalog. $34.99 reg. $59.99.

They offer free shipping when you spend $49 or more from the toy catalog through 11/24/07.

That's the same one at Walmart, just a different color.

  7. I would suggest doing a couple of turkey breasts and drumsticks instead of 2 whole turkeys. That way, you can cook all of the turkey at the same time, and there's less waste. (definately do the oven bags, they're foolproof!) Have everyone bring their favorite side dish. Good luck!
  8. If it's the Homestyle kitchen, it's not good quality at all. It's a very cheaply made kitchen.

To the OP, if you are looking for a qualtiy kitchen, I would stick to a name brand like Little Tikes or Step 2.

I bought this one for dd in September. It's perfect for a 3 year old, it did take about 2 hours to put together, but she doesn't know (or care) about the difference in this or the $100 one. She loves hers!

  9. Target has the Special K protein water on sale for $1 each. I used my $1 Vocalpoint coupons to get them for free. They also have the small bottles of French's mustard for .74 each. Use the Target .75 off coupon and made them free.

Also, there's an aquadoodle type toy made by Parents that is clearanced to $3.74, it was hanging on the aisle by the playdoh, it looks like a big clipboard and you fill the pens with water to draw. I picked up a few for Christmas. No patio stuff other than a few chairs and hammocks.
