BEST DEAL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!BEST DEAL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!BEST DEAL EVER!!!!!!!!!
Decided to stop by Target before work and hit a major jackpot!
I purchased this Disney Pirates of the Caribbean 15" LCD TV for $38.70 It was on clearance for 75% off making it $62.43, because it was the last one-floor model, they gave me an additional 30% off , took it down to $43.70 & I used a $5off toy coupon, bring my total to $38.70
Nice! I don't remember ever seeing that TV before. Cute.

The ones we have in our store now is the World of Disney Characters puzzle with Alice In Wonderland on front . The ones I got for $3.48 was Animation Timeline with Cinderella and Dumbo on the front. Guess different stores have different stock maybe
This is the one that was $3.48 before, but is now ringing up full price. Disney Timeline. It is still showing up in stores periodically. Most of our stores are constantly out of the Esphera puzzles, and when they do get some in, they are, often as not, these. I got about 10 of them at the clearance price, and less, but at at least one of our stores, they are now $32.49.

Samething with the Nemo color wonders alot of got. Everyone got them for different prices but generally under $ 2. each. The same ones are out of the shelves again and are 7.99 each.
Yeah, those were clearance in the fall, and a bunch of us got them clearance then. Then they showed up out of the blue again here during the spring reset. They were NOF then, probably because they had cleared them out before. We all thought they were just found in the back after inventory, but it turned out they were bringing them back and hadn't fixed the system.
-
Thats because they are a new style. The ones that were $3.94-7.98 were last years model and discontinued. I saw the ones you are talking about last week but they are the new ones now.
No, the ones that I am talking about ARE the ones that we all got for $3.48 - $7.48. I have about 10 sets in my garage. I was buying a few toys on Sunday and needed a small amount to round it up to $25 to use the coupon, and I saw 2 sets on the shelf and thought, voila! But when I scanned them, they scanned full price. The other design (which is much less attractive, and has the globe design behind just a few character) has always rung up full price. These are the ones that had been ringing NOF. In fact, I bought a couple at this same store about 6 weeks ago.

Bad news on the Esphera puzzles, if anyone missed out...they are now ringing up correctly, at least at one of my regular stores.

I know it's been like about a whole week since I went to Target but last week the bulk stuff was full price and this week it's MIA. I walked around the whole store (and didn't see any of my usual workers either). Diapers are still $8.48 for jumbo pack (on sale this week for $8.50 so big deal), some wipes are also 15% off and the few baby clothes are still 30%. Can you tell I pregnant by what I look for?...haha
Toys, such as the Dora Globe & playdoh deluxe play set, are STILL 50% off! I walked out with nothing at all...that hasn't happened since that one stupid worker made me REALLY MAD about 2 years ago (and yes, I went to cs & told them what happened)
Bulk stuff got moved back to the regular departments. What little was left on clearance got moved to endcaps in those areas and probably sold out.
The toys get marked every couple of weeks, but generally on Wednesday or Thursday, so if you are looking at those things, you should try Wed or Thur of this week.

I am annoyed with the whole coupon thing altogether. I spend alot of time finding coupons, comparing prices, and scanning the clearance items for things that I can use. I have a large family with lots of mouths to feed and I work hard to stretch my dollar as far as I can. Why do I have to leave Target feeling guilty because some cashier gives me a hard time about using too many coupons or paying too low of a price on an item that Target themselves have set. The lipton tea thing is really ticking me off. The coupon states "Lipton Tea", nothing specific. Cashier says it has to be in a box. I also bought some of the Lays cracker crisps. I used the target web coupon along with the mq so I got them for $.50 each. She just rolled her eyes. It really upsets me, but not enough to quit couponing and perusing.!!
Call or email them and raise Cain! There is NO reason for that, and in this economy, Target cannot really afford to offend its customers. The last thing you should do is to give up on coupons, but they DO need to train their cashiers. When I have complained, they have generally at least made contact with the local store. If you call, make sure to have your receipt, because that way they know exactly which cashier it was.
-
They do print at the gift register computers..go to Target.com. I also save the blue papers and print on the backside at home from the coupon generator. So I have coupons on Target paper from the generator ....saves my paper at home and there are usually no problems using these Q's (I think the cashiers see the blue paper and know it is from Target).
Now that is just downright amusing! Very good way to reuse their paper! I used them once and saw all that paper and thought, UGH! what a waste!
Funny thing, though, the time I DID do that, was one of those times when the cashier gave me grief about the "copied" coupon. I pointed out that I had just used THEIR in-store computer to print it, and she called a manager!

I forgot about the partyware coupon
I have been printing my Target Q's at Target...print out on blue paper. I wasn't sure everyone knows that you can print the Q's at Target. I never have problems with those scanning.
Yeah, but that only works for the most recent coupons, and it wastes a TON of paper, so I like using the generator. But that's me. I DID tell a cashier there, though, and she does it now. She doesn't have a computer, so it is the only way for her to print them. and it is GREAT if it is a current coupon and you forgot it!

The birthday card sets are a great deal. there are also thank you cards, picture cards, the kids birthday cards. I know these will go fast at my Target. I also get a pack of HP paper each time I go...marked down to 4.29 (some Targets are down to 3.xx) and use the 3.00 off Q.
Yeah, our store only had a couple of the kids sets, a couple of the thank yous and then only the dog & cat ones. nothing else.

Great day at Target.
Picked up a box of assorted birtday cards for $6.xx, 50% off. I also found a bunch of clearance in the foods and with coupons ended up with a lot! Also, the Kandoo was clearanced 30%. I am hoping that they go 50% soon. I also found a lot of diapers clearanced, regular Huggies. Oh, and my best deal was an 88 quart clear plastic storage container on wheels 50% off for $4.xx. I have been waiting for a good deal on these since I have a lot of organizing to do! I picked up 7 but I wish I had gotten more. I may go back tomorrow if they are still there and get the rest. :)
actually, the bday sets are only 30% off. They were originally $9.99. I went ahead and picked up a juvenile set too at that price because they were pretty low on those. I'll hold out on the others 'cause I think they'll still have them at a lower price.
-
Bought the Whiz kid for $ 12.48 and the word whammer for $ 7.48- also a few of the cartridges for the Whiz kid for $ 4.XX. HAs anyone seen the Dora globe at 75% yet?
You might want to check. I think the whiz kid is being discontinued by the manufacturer, so you may not be able to buy games in the future.

I am just about done with Target. Today I did a quick trip at lunch time since I needed to get TP and paper towels for the office. I always take my coupons with me in case I find a deal. After the gal checked me out but before she scanned the coupons, she called the manager over to show her all the coupons. She said that they have to have all coupons checked if a customer is using more than 5. Oh how Stupid! Only one out of the whole group was a printed coupon. Jeesh, nothing like making you customers feel like a criminal.
I would absolutely call the 800 number and raise Cain over that! That is ridiculous. Be sure to have your receipt with you because they'll ask for info from it that will tell them who the cashier was, etc.

Hi, I love the site. I had a question and was hoping someone had the answer. I Purchased a tv stand and audio piers at 50% off a few weeks ago, but now I found them for 75% off at another Target. I am talking about a $75 difference!! I have heard of purchasing them at the cheaper price and then returning them with the more expensive receipt, but I am wondering if this will work since it is different Target stores. I am not sure if they have different UPC numbers for different stores, therefore they the receipt and the product wont match up. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
It is no big deal. I have returned stuff here in CA that I bought in Indiana or Washington. They don't care as long as you have the receipt.

I've wondered if Target would ever go away from clearance by department and opt for more clearance by individual item... kind of like Costco does. (Although I am NO expert on shopping at Costco by any means. I'm never really sure how they handle markdown stuff and would love to have tips on their methods...) It seems, though, that they base markdowns on how much stock they have of any one item (and whether it is "seasonal" or not, which from a "making money" standpoint, makes sense, I guess. It makes it lots harder to guess at when the heck the price of something may go lower though!
... I guess the fun could only last so long at Target, eh? The only thing I've noticed for sure is that there is just not much at all on clearance these days. I only go to Target now about once a week as opposed to my normal 3-4 times a week.
If they do, they would have to change their merchandising cycle as well, at least for some items. Toys, for example, which are released in conjunction with movies, etc., often come out in waves of new merchandise. They have to clear out items that aren't moving as well (which means they already do what you suggest in some measure) to make space to put up all the new stuff. Like tomorrow when they release all the new Indiana Jones, Animated Transformers & Hulk movie tie-in toy merchandise. And like they did with Speed Racer. Some of that space is on end caps when they do a launch, but not all of it. Other examples are things like the Classic Pooh baby clothing, which is on a 6-8 week cycle. They clear it out like clockwork and bring in the new ones. So, those sorts of things are going to have to stick with the current setup unless they change the way they merchandise new product.
However, the timing of markdowns is what really marks them as different. Having a predictable schedule once the item is slated for markdown, though, is very different than other stores. I hope it doesn't go away. It would be a shame, and make it a lot harder to get the bargains that we do now.

Mine was Giraffe, elephant and ladybug. BUt not all of it just some items as I stated in my other post. HTH
Hmmm....yeah, I double checked this morning, and none of ours, including the giraffe set, was marked down. I'll keep an eye on them this week, though.

was SO excited to find a Tinkerbell Disney Mix for $12.48 today! I think they found someones stash and put it back on the endcap (it was still marked $24.99 or whatever)...I also picked up 6 pairs of hanes socks for $1.74, some cleaning latex gloves (4 pack) for $1.74, and some dish soap (onsale for $2)...good morning!
Some bad news however I wanted to share with the group...at BOTH of my nearby Targets i've noticed that they do not markdown following the usual schedule anymore! I asked and was told that National Target decided to change the way they were handling clearance and now it marks down based on number of items in each section and not BY section/day...so you could have a huge markdown all of a sudden (like 30%-75%) on one kind of stereo the same day that happens to a picture frame (just making up an example). I was not amused by this information
Is anyone else seeing this trend at their Target yet?
I was afraid that something like this was happening when none of the home stuff was marked down at all, there was no clearance endcap. I hope things don't change drastically, but they may.
Not seeing that here, yet, but it would be good if everyone keeps an eye on things. If we can find some new pattern evolving it would be good to track it. I can't really see them changing the whole system over, but they might. They might also be testing this in some markets, to see how it works out for them.
-
Out of 3 stores that I have visited, one of them has one pattern marked down 30%. They marked it down 2 weeks ago so am hoping for the 50% this week. I bought a chair for my neices and it has a green frame with pink, yellow, and green stripes and dots and 2 big ladybugs on it. Not sure what this style is called, but that's what it looks like. The other 2 stores have the same items, just not on clearance, HMMM.....is it up to the individual store what/when to put things on clearance?? I am thinking of going to Target today, haven't been there since last week and I am going thru withdrawals. I will report back with any finds!!
No it isn't up to the individual store. But, if a line isn't selling well in various markets, they may discontinue it in those, particularly if they are smaller stores where selling space is limited. Sounds like some stores are discontinuing a particular line. Can anyone describe which of the lines it is?
-
My store marked them down to 30% 2 weeks ago so I would think maybe this thursday it will be at 50%. They only marked down the one pattern tho.. the other 2 patterns are still full price. (the patterns with the orange and pink butterflies I think it was)
None of ours has been marked. I am watching the Hello Kitty stuff. They only have it at a few stores, I have noticed. It is with the Sunny Patch stuff, but of our 5 stores only 2 have the HK.

believe this is an all day event. no times are listed on the posting.
-
Wow! I went to one of these about a month or so ago, and it was a colossal waste of time. It was only 2 days, went the first day and they had nothing but some junk. I was annoyed at wasting my gas!
-
Mini seasonal was reset in one of my stores today. The bulk stuff was all put back into the appropriate departments, with clearance stuff stuck on endcaps. The department now has all the summer picnic type stuff, toys, pools, etc. The same type stuff as last year.
-
What are these towel sets? I went to three different stores and the only had the various character ones for $9.99. Maybe I missed them, I actually haven't been perimeter shopping for over two weeks!
You saw the beach towels. These are bath towels with a washcloth. Most stores moved them to perimeter endcaps. They sold out quickly once marked down, so they could be gone. They had Disney Cars, Transformers, Spiderman, Hello Kitty, Disney Princess & Dora I think. Maybe some others. Most of the girl ones went first.
-
Did anyone mention that some of the food in the bulk section has gone 15% off? If not, it has. Not everything, mostly items they don't regularly stock, or items they don't need that much of, I guess. I noticed, in particular, that the Smuckers strawberry jam was cheaper than the same size Market Pantry one. They had most of the Barilla pasta marked down, too.

Yeah, our cameras are long gone, too. And our cupcake holders are full price too! NO FAIR!!! I REALLY want one of those.
