  1. Re #8, "No political-related signatures are allowed," I've noticed at least one in my travels around the board this evening. Have the rules changed?
  2. Hi. Do you have a Fry's up your way? I don't remember what I paid for them, but I got some Yamaha speakers there about a year ago. I know that they didn't cost much, because I'm cheap, but I've been impressed again and again by how good they sound. The bass is fantastic. Are Bose speakers really that (comparatively) good that people spend that kind of money on them?
  3. Yes it did. It took awhile for my eyes to adjust to what I was seeing, but yes, I could see the demarcation lines and all. The light is 6" long so it's a perfect compact size to stick in a suitcase or purse or whatever.
  4. All righty. That was a most disgusting process. Time for a new mattress. I'm tossing my "old" one -- I just got it in August -- and going out today to buy a new one. Thankfully, this seems to be the season of mattress sales because this one may not be beyond hope, but I'LL never sleep on it again. How one little cat could possibly hold all that liquid inside her is beyond me. Unless maybe my grandcat joined her. And my daughter's friend had brought her dog over to play. I think they all marked their territory on my bed! Too bad the guinea pig and the snake didn't come by, too. They could've had a real potty party. Geeez. So back to the thread, I would recommend the Stink-Free light.
  5. I'm editing on the fly, because I'm not sure how. But I just found this, if you're ordering an addition phone: Purchase additional Sprint or Nextel phones and receive a $25 invoice credit for each phone (exclusions apply).¹ Enter promotional code "MORE4U" in your shopping cart and the $25 credit for each eligible phone will automatically appear on your first or second month's invoice. Once you apply the promotional code, you will see the invoice credit confirmation listed next to each eligible phone. You can then continue through the checkout process. ¹Offer expires December 31, 2007 or while supplies last. However, Nextel reserves the right to extend this offer after the expiration date without further notice. 2-year Promo Price requires 2-year service agreement. $200 early termination fee applies after 30-day trail period. Conditions apply. Offer not valid for VPL, strategic, corporate, and public sector accounts. Requires new activation and credit approval. A $25 invoice credit for each eligible phone will appear on your first or second month's invoice depending on activation date and/or billing cycle. Offer not valid with any other promotional code offers and may not be available in all markets. This offer is available only through sprint.com.
  6. Thank you ALL for your replies! I ended up going to Petco after work today and getting what they recommended: Stink-Finder Ultra-Violet Light & Flashlight. Stink-Finder?? It not only detects urine and "other biological contamination," but it "will fluoresce many types of ringworm," "lets you inspect your hotel/motel accommodations" (specifically for quigonatr!), and "fluoresces the anti-counterfeiting strip embedded in real currency." Dang, now if it'll just pay my bills, I'll buy stock in the company! And of course it comes with a liquid odor remover, Stink-Free. (What else could it possibly be called.) All for the low, low price of around $22 with tax. But does it work? I dunno. I'm in momentary denial and haven't tried it yet.
  7. Okay, here's what happened: My daughter brought her youngster of a cat over to spend a few days with me, and my oldtimer cat didn't like it one bit. She disliked it so much, in fact, that she...ummm...urinated on my bed. Possibly several times. Ewww, right? I checked some websites and almost all of them recommend getting a black light to see exactly where the urine is now residing on/in my mattress. Like an idiot, I went out and bought an incandescent black light bulb. Now I reread the sites and they specifically say that a fluorescent light is necessary. No kidding. So. Anybody know where I can get an inexpensive (CHEAP) fluorescent bulb (quickly) along with the necessary fixture to use it? I love my couch, but sleeping there indefinitely has never been a dream of mine. Thanks.
  8. OH! That's a place I never considered. Thanks! Tomorrow morning isn't too late.
  9. I'm looking for the impossible: 1) A guardian angel pendant 2) Needs to be inexpensive 3) For a male, so not too girly 4) Need it before Friday Any help appreciated!
  10. Oakland, CA -- It's going to be a beautiful shopping day here! "Sunny, with a high near 66. North northwest wind between 5 and 8 mph." Thanksgiving night will be clear with a low of 45, for any of you planning on getting in lines around the Bay Area. Dress warmly and get lots of deals! Good luck and be careful out there!
  11. Hi. What kind of remote did you get? I recently bought a universal for $20 and it had an Olevia code, but it doesn't work.
  12. I've had my 37" Olevia for almost a year now, and I love it. Beautiful color and sound. My only problem with it is that I lost the remote in a move and haven't been able to find a universal that works with it. Otherwise, I highly recommend it and I really hope this isn't just a rumor!
  13. I got the Olevia 37" right before Christmas, and I love it! The sound and picture are great. And yes, the remote is a little odd.
  14. Never any good ones in my area, either. If I lived exclusively on Japanese food, though, I'd be set for life.
