  1. Nope - it's one of our paid holidays

Us too - my hubby and I both work for county government, and the county traded Columbus Day for the day after Thanksgiving. Great idea! :cheesy:

  2. If the kids spend the night with grandparents, then the hubby and I like to go together. He waits in the lines to pay, and I rip through the store and fill the cart.

So far, we have a pretty good track record for meeting up right at the cash register. :gdthums: but it sure does piss people off behind him! Oh well...:gdlaugh:

  3. The kids sleep over at grandma's house after Thanksgiving dinner, so I usually have time and opportunity to hide the presents, then nap. So far we haven't camped out for anything yet, so we've always stopped for breakfast at about 4 AM at Denny's then made it to Wal-Mart in plenty of time for what we wanted...
  4. The hubby and I have 2 dinners - the first at my MIL's house early in the day with all the traditional stuff plus lots of Mexican food - enchiladas, tamales, beans & rice, and sometimes chile rellenos. :sombrero: Then it's off to my mom's for a very untraditional meal (one year we had Lasagna). We take leftovers from both, and then we don't have to cook for a few days! :cheesy:
  5. disneyland is pretty at christmas, it just feels more magical, plus fake snow every night.

I agree - we went to Disneyland 3 years ago in November, and the kids LOVED the snow on main street. We went on Veteran's Day weekend, and it was PACKED - later we found out that this was the "opening weekend" for the Christmas decorations. Had a great time!
