  1. Thanks for your replies. I was worried about not knowing enough about what to look for in buying a used ping pong table so I had not looked on ebay or craig's list. I should probably consider it tho. I might look at our local play it again sports outlets. These things seem to be a purchase that gets used for a while and then gets stored away, like the above poster said. Thanks again.
  2. My son is 12 years old and the only thing he wants for Christmas is a ping pong table. I looked online at a wide variety of stores, but have no idea what I'm looking for. It seems that most indoor tables are 5/8", with the more expensive ones closer to a full inch. I guess this is for warping issues? How important is the thickness? Do I need more than 5/8"? We will leave the table set up all the time in the basement. Also I can't see how buying online would be cost effective because all the sites I find a good deal on a table then tack on $150 to deliver it. I would rather pick it up locally. Sears, Dick's Sporting Goods, Target, Walmart, etc. if I have to pay so much to ship it. I was thinking of spending around $300. Can I get a good table for that? Anyone have any opinions about it that might be helpful? I sure would appreciate some guidance. Thanks!
