  1. picked it up for xmas and it is a hit with the kids!! the maracas are fun but take some getting used to. FYI they are 9.99 reg price (maracas) at game stop if you have one of those locally, so if the price of them goes higher online you have an option
  2. I can't speak about the panasonic LCD's because I've never owned an LCD for anything other than a comp monitor---but this PLASMA TV (what the post is for--not an LCD) is beautiful. I've owned it for about 6 months and just love the picture quality. I've had plasmas for a few years now--wouldn't trade for the world or an LCD. currently in the house we have 2 42" panasonics (this model) one 50" samsung and another 50" panasonic (this model, next size) all plasma--all used and abused on a regular basis without a problem to speak of so far (knock on wood) panasonic plasmas are actually one of the top rated plasma televisions out there--google them and read the reviews. I'm sorry to hear that you've had problems with your LCD though, maybe next go-round you'll consider plasma
  3. how are you getting free shipping on this--unless you're buying 20 of them. when I go to the staples site it tells me free shipping on orders over $50
  4. any current word on who's going to have them soon? I've been calling and looking for weeks without any luck here--employees won't even give an idea of when they might get more "security reasons" ?? that's what I keep hearing
  5. OK, what's the deal--anyone sign up with this store? after giving all kinds of info (that I normally don't disclose unless I am actually buying something), I tried to access the deal!?! and nothing..nada..kaput. it just resets itself to asking for my login info again. click on contact us?? same thing!
  6. some great ideas right out fo the gate! thanks...off to search out some of those things he snowboards MRN, and those are great ideas but he got a whole new setup for his bday 2 weeks ago--between all the relatives he's covered from feet (new bindings, feet warmers) to head (new helmet, goggles) it's just so hard with his bday so close to christmas--I usually buy one big $$ gift for him and do the rest for xmas, I'm just looking to round out so under the tree doesn't look bare with just a few things amber--those heelys sound like a good thing--how do sizes run in those, just like regular sneakers? it's funny that you mention the name of the team jerseys you got--that the name of the two HS teams in our town!
  7. the sims 2 pets is an expansion pack--you have to have the sims 2 already on the computer to play--if you are looking at the PC version. the PC version does have sex, the people can get pregnant ect. they call it woo-hoo..whatever the name...you try explaining to a 8 yr old what woo-hoo is!! that was the day that the sims went bye-bye in our home..lol poor kid only got to play it for one day (I play and watch all games he gets to see what the content is--thank god) the video game version does not have woo-hoo, at least the ones that are listing it as an E rating. and the sims 2 pets is a standalone for video game systems too. HTH
  8. I am drawing such a blank this year--I could use a little help with some ideas for my son. I've done the big shopping already (PS2, boom chair, lift tickets) but I'm having a really hard time coming up with ideas for some smaller (under $40 or so each) gifts to put under the tree. he's given me a list and mentioned things here and there--but it's mostly video games! I bought a couple, but I don't want to buy tons of games and have him spending more and more time glued to the tube..lol. I'm at a loss and thought maybe some of you have some suggestions for tangible (read:nothing to do with computers or video games) presents. so far the only thing he's expressed interest out loud about was the creepy crawler bug oven--got it. anything else specifically that's a hit with 9 yr old boys this year? he's already got a telescope and microscope (his bday was just 2 weeks ago, nothing like making the season even harder..lol), I've picked up some books that I know he'll like, I just can't seem to think of anything else... HELP!!
  9. ashemgra & Kamillon, these remotes are beyond standard universal remotes. they are smart remotes--you program the specs of everything you want it to control (even lights and ceiling fans if they are remote controlled in your home) and simply plug it into your computer for the loading of info. no looking up codes and hoping that all your equip is compatible with the remote you bought. tons of buttons so all features can be used--no pulling out manf remote to access the menus for volor adjustment or sleep timers or other advanced features. with the push of one button my living room lights dim, the tv turns on, the dvd player turns on, the hometheater turns on, the tv tunes to the right channell, the home theater selects the right input and the movie starts playing!! all by pushing the button to "watch a DVD" in a house with literally 14 remotes--these smart remotes are a godsend. check out the logitech harmony website for more details and a demo--you'll be a convert!
  10. lovebear...check out the reviews for the 720 and the harmon kardon tc30...both of those are supposed to be better than the 880 with some features and ease of use--and they can be found online for less than $169 you mention. I was just searching this morning and found the kardon for $127, and the 720 logitech going for $145, both new
  11. I just tried and it's showing up through the number given here--$9. give it a try again, maybe they got more stock in http://www.officedepot.com/textSearch.do?uniqueSearchFlag=true&Ntt=148181102&x=25&y=12
  12. I just bought the westinghouse 19" from tigerdirect.com, it was $249 with a $50 rebate. not exactly under $200 to start but their rebates are fast if you opt to do them electronically--and it really is a GREAT tv/monitor, gave it to my ds for his bday and it's up and running with cable, computer, dvd player and gamecube right now I did the rebate electronically, had it deposited in my paypal account within 2 weeks of claim. they charge a small fee--I got 45.50 back instead of 50--so my out of pocket for this tv was $205...still great for the quality I think. good luck
