  1. Holy Cow!

I barely ever go to Sears and when I do I never look in the Land's End section. But today I just had a feeling to go to this Sears store early around opening time.

Land's End was having a fantastic clearance. Here is what I got:

Cotton/ Cashmere tunic sweater originally $49 now $6.50

Sweater jacket originally $119 now $15.00

Cashmere cable pullover originally $160 now $20

Cable Cardigan orignally $69.50 now $8

Quilted Weatherfeild Shoes don't know original price now $6.99

    Nautical t-shirt was $14 now $1.99

So it is half off the 75% off price. Amazing!

They had a lot of extra small clothes left, and it was mostly woman's. They also had a lot of winter jackets, the squall ones in xlarge woman's sizes. The guy at the store said that most stuff will be gone by tonight. He also said their merchandise lasts a long time and only had a 3% shrinkage rate. I asked if any other stores were having the sale and he gave me three store names all in Ohio so you will have to go and check unless you live in Northeast Ohio. Here are the NEO locations with 50% off 75% off clearance. The rest just have 75% off clearance which is nothing to complain about either.

Southland, Middleburg Hts OH (Stand alone store)

    Great Northern, North Olmstead

Belden Village Mall, Heck knows where, Ohio

    Good luck!

  2. Wow. That was weird. I was never on an Amtrak train before but a friend and I were thinking about taking a train instead of flying (it was already wayyy cheaper) and this may be the dealbreaker! I was searching for these codes this morning. Thanks.
  3. The North Face makes women's coats in size extra small. You might want to check REI, Campmor, Sierra Trading Post, and Eastern Mountain Sports. Also, Patagonia, Mountain Hardwear, or Marmot may make XS in ladies. Most of those places I mentioned are having some good sales right now. Also, look for coupon codes for Sierra Trading Post or REI if you go with either of those options. (OK, I admit that we have a slight bit of a coat problem around here. )

Thanks! I forgot all about REI...after all this time desperately searching for a coat...I went to REI Outlet and you can search by size. I have at least four coats that fit my criteria so I am going to think about it a little more. It will be so nice to have a coat that traps warm air instead of trapping cold air because the layers are too loose.

I am open to other ideas if anyone has any. I am so excited to finally get a coat that will fit me right. (I am a junior but junior coats never fit me right, although junior clothes usually do).

I checked out all the links and the Cabellas link too, but that did not seem warm enough. Some of the other sites look promising but I need to go to bed now. Campmor has really good prices so I am definitely looking there again. I will resume the search tomorrow. Let's hope whoever I buy it from ships fast! Once again, thanks SOOO much, I forgot all about REI. BTW, in my searching I have learned that Marmot and Mountain Hardware make XS but I haven't seen any Patagonia XS.

Is there a particular brand you recommend the most?

  4. I have a nice Columbia winter jacket right now, but it is not keeping me warm because too much air is escaping due to how large it is on me. I am looking for a Columbia quality coat in size extra small (Columbia doesn't make them in that size). Kids 16 is too big on me and everything else is too short. It is ok if it is a petite coat but I definitely don't need it to be. Juniors usually doesn't fit me right and the stuff from Juniors doesn't seem to be of good quality.

I have checked LL Bean and Land's End online sales. Any other ideas? I'm tired of being cold we got this late winter blast!
