Always take what a phone CSR says to you with a grain of salt. Especially when it comes to Black Friday. :)

The people who bought the desktop bundles were supposedly charged $50.00 for shipping and handling. If you're a Premier member through the Rewards program the shipping was free. I guess the other user thought it would be $50.00 shipping as well for the netbook.

Compaqs just came back up fine on a browser with the cache cleared.

The policy states that they don't price match at a customer's request. However, the past few years Amazon has "secretly" pricematched the vast majority of video games, DVDs, etc found in all the major ads on Black Friday. They simply lower the advertised prices on Black Friday. That's how I've scored my media purchases the last two years. Add the items you want to your cart and start refreshing around midnight EST. If nothing comes up try again midnight CST, MST, and PST. I don't remember which time zone they use. It may be PST. Hopefully someone will chime in with an answer.

I'm looking to pick up Mad Men Season 1, but it is still at the $49.99 price. I guess I can pick it up from JR for $14.99 plus $4.00 or so for shipping.

Is it me or are none of the DVD prices have been lowered except for a small handful?

Apple has a very strict pricing policy that all Apple affiliates must follow. A store would risk losing their affiliate status if they lower the price more than other stores. A lot of stores get around the policy by offering freebies if you buy an iPod on top of the small discount. It's Apple's sinister way of keeping all the prices uniform.

The web site is still down for me as well. Who knows what is happening. The web site problem must be a big one as the techs didn't even take a few seconds to switch to a "we are under maintenance" page. You can try calling their 1-800 number to place an order.
