This is true. It is a new policy for Kohls. They no longer will give you full value for a return plus the value of your Kohls cash on a merchandise credit. If you used the Cash for the purchase, it will be deducted from your refund. If Kohls cash was issued on the purchase, you lose it when you return something and there is no way to gain it back.
I returned some things this weekend and got a refund- less the Kohls cash....
No option to take a merchandise credit instead- as in the past
I kept items that could have been considered the value of the Kohls cash too ...
I guess this means that I will only use Kohls cash on items that I know I will be keeping - and keep that as a separate order to
ensure that I get full value of my Kohls cash....

Noehlp - So I got the mailer. I was chuckling walking in from the mailbox. I open it and find out mine was only for 15% off. I also noticed it's non transferrable so it must be tied to the CC account number. Man I was dissapointed. I can get the same deal now at Bed Bath and Beyond with their 20% off. I may just go there out of spite. I just used one of these 30% with CC deals in October, they must have tracked it and changed my offer.
by the way - just because you got a 15% off code on your mailer does not mean you cannot use the 30% off code online. I use the highest % off available online - even if I got the 15% off on my mailer- it has never been a problem....

I guess that they had trouble with the Kohl's cash this time. I too did not get my 45$ Kohls cash email- and calls to CS and repeated re-sends - still did not make it appear. CS did mention that they had some system issues.
the rep said that I could order and then they would take the 45$ Kohls cash off the total - which - if it is what happens- I think should be a better deal than using the Kohls cash directly......
if I recall the Kohls cash comes off the total and then the discount coupon is applied to the reduced price.... so if I get the % off first (sounds like 20% before Dec 5) then I should get "more" for my $45 Kohls cash.
Anyway - considering the hoops that I have had to jump through it seems only fair....

I was able to use part value (50%) of the expired Kohls cash that I let expire (!) in the store. :)
I knew it was expired but took it out at the register- then looked at it, said shoot its expired - I nicely asked the cashier if I could still use it - she said she could give me 50% of the value but not 100%. I was happy with the 50% offer way better than the "No, sorry" I thought I would get.

Can anyone tell me why most of the coupon codes are only able to be used with a charge card.
I think this is unfair.discounts should be for everyone,reguardless how you pay.

I think the discount with kohls charge card only is designed to encourage more shoppers to get the card.
This must be annoying if you are opposed to getting more cards. There are coupons occasionally for non card holders- usually 10 -15 % off .
I have only one store card - this one (guess their marketing works). In my state you can pay a set % (30 maybe) of the balance to avoid all charges. I use this feature to avoid paying for items that I take back. I have MVP status and often am able to use the 30% off code with free shipping. I have paid no interest in the 5 years I have had the card - and the savings (both $ and time) are worthwhile for me.

the % off usually applies to everything in the store (which is a really nice change)
In the past I have been able to apply the % off to everything I have bought - no exceptions.

A couple of years ago when Wii's were hard to find = they had them at Cosco at BF - I recall kicking myself for not thinking to go there after someone posted they strolled up and got one at 11:30 or thereabouts....

Did you try calling customer service - I would expect that they would quickly credit you for the ship charge - after all it was not your fault that the items cancelled.
