  1. ok when you people say you start the night before are you meaning that you start to stand in line then or you actually shop then? Cause the stores around here dont open until the early morning hours. Am I just having a blonde moment?

I start the night before at 12 midnight. I hit the outlets in the smokies at 12 then I go to walmart and price match my regular stuff then scope out the pallets, run around the store like mad then move on to my other stores.

Alot of people do get in line though.

  2. OK, I know i'm going to get heat for this from some parents out there...but it has to be said. DO NOT BRING SMALL CHILDREN TO BLACK FRIDAY!!!!! I'm talking about under 12 year old kids, and i'm talking about sleeping out Thanksgiving night until about 8am the next morning. I cannot tell you how much it bugs me to have to work my way around strollers in crowded aisles, or to see kids outside all night in the cold. Black Friday is not for small children (after 8am is fine because all the serious shoppers are on their way home or done with the craziness). OK, before you yell at me. I'm a single mom, I make sure I have someone to watch my daughter every year (no school that day, no daycare)...it's not so hard. Besides the kids being downright annoying, it's also dangerous for them to be in the middle of it! Tell me i'm not the only one bothered by this!!!!

Amen! nothing like being rammed in the back of the legs with a stroller. I love the people who go thought the stores with a stroller yelling"watch out stroller coming though" The people on the personal scooter things are even worse!

  3. Mine make a list at this point. I have them note which are the things they "have to" have. They are 16 13 12 and 10. We set a limit each year on what we spend on each child and I try to keep it even(money wise) then I buy "all together" presents like last year it was the Wii that get put to: everybody. The older ones no longer believe in Santa(but they are not allowed to talk about it) so they know that if they ask for one present and its their whole budget then are old enough to realize what they have to sacrifice. Luckily our budget has been able to keep with the growing cost pretty well. Things just get so expensive as they get older!
