  1. My wife and I bought two boxes of 4 place settings of dishes (16 piece sets -- 4 dinner plates, 4 side plates, 4 mugs, 4 bowls) for $19.99 each set. They were originally $49.99 per set. I think $19.99 is cheaper than the cheapest stuff at Wal-Mart. The dishes are really nice too, tan with molded-in spirals around the outside edges and some of the tan on the edges has been scuffed away (on purpose) to reveal a darker brown. They had an ivory/tan version of the dishes too.
  2. As emptynest-2 suggests, Picasa has easy-to-use basic photo editing capabilities.

  4. 57 Laptops, all brand new, all running Windows XP, starting at $599.99: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=Property&Subcategory=32&Description=&Type=&N=2030260032&srchInDesc=&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=&OEMMark=0&PropertyCodeValue=449%3A6965&PropertyCodeValue=449%3A11104 For $699.99, either of these two Lenovo laptops are really nice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=Property&N=2030260032&OEMMark=0&PropertyCodeValue=393%3A22253%2C393%3A23203%2C449%3A6965%2C449%3A11104&bop=And&CompareItemList=N82E16834146295%2CN82E16834146314 (Lenovo bought IBM a few years ago) These two laptops are both Core2Duo with 1GB of RAM and Windows XP Pro. The main difference is whether you want a 14.1" screen or a 15.4" screen.
  5. If you are looking for refurbs and scratch & dent, there's always Dell's Outlet. www.dell.com And there's also Dell's off-lease department... some good deals there: http://www.dfsdirectsales.com
  6. If you don't need an OS you're better off building something from scratch from a place like www.newegg.com. Why pay for an OS you aren't going to use? No pre-fab computer is going to state that it will support 8GB of RAM. And most won't come with a video card period, much less a good video card (most pre-fab computers get buy with integrated graphics). Most pre-fab computers are bundled with keyboards/mice, monitors, speakers, etc. unless you spec something out from www.dell.com, www.hp.com, etc. Also, don't forget that even though the motherboard may support up to 8 GB of RAM, Windows 32-bit OSes will only support about 3.25 GB. Read this: http://www.vistaclues.com/reader-question-32-bit-vista-memory-limits/ You'll need a 64-bit version of Windows (Vista or XP Pro) or Linux to have any hopes of using 4 GB or more of RAM.
  7. Gimp is a highly respectable program, but it can be a little confusing for new users... Paint.net is another good free one: http://www.getpaint.net
  8. Precisely... Abuse of other Gottadealers is not tolerated, as per "the rules": http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=53669 People who just come here looking for a fight or to fling insults should expect to be banned, not complain about being banned...
  9. And some of us collect smileys like an addiction. Who could that be? http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Hmmm/thinkin.gif http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Mil-Laughter/laugh3.gif
  10. Please remember that you can report posts you find offensive so that a Mod can take action as appropriate. If you don't know how to report a post, read this: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=47280 We strive to make GottaDeal a friendly community but we can't fix what we don't know about. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Thread-Related/Fight/cant-we.jpg
  11. If you want black Ligitech x230 speakers, Newegg has them: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121123 $38.99 plus $11.53 for 3-day shipping... 707 reviews and they all average 5 stars... They sound great for the low price.
  12. If memory serves, there will be some good TV deals from Best Buy and Circuit City starting 2-3 weeks before the Super Bowl.
  13. Lowe's has blacklights too...
  14. I would still go for a brand-new 8GB Nano before buying a refurb... Same $149 price either way: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=4DBD22E3&nclm=Sale (It's in the Clearance section)
  15. Don't forget to look -- under the "Clearance Items" section, they have the Black and Product:RED 8GB Nanos for $149 -- BRAND NEW! Brand new > Refurb.
  16. I have a Dyson DC14 Animal. It's been out for service 3 times -- the extended warranty is really paying for itself.
  17. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Happy/blush.gif Thanks for the compliments all, but this site really wouldn't be the great site that it is without all of you creating threads to share the deals that you find.
  18. http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/decorationsmile2.gif Merry Christmas, Everyone! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/falasmiley.gif
  19. Your best bet is to go to a Wal-Mart that has a tire and oil change facility. Go in through that entrance, make the gift card purchase at that register, and leave through that exit.... No fuss, no muss. If you go early (7 am) you should beat the crowds.
  20. That's not typically something that goes on sale. Usually, its just Christmas clearance.
  21. Sam's Club have Wal-Mart cards.
  22. Wal-mart's & Sam's Club's After-Christmas sale are always good for gift sets.
  23. My wife did an little exchange with her coworkers... One of them is crazy about Key Lime and saw my wife drinking a Key Lime soda from Wal-Mart. My wife took in a bottle in for her the next day and now we pick up a few bottles for the coworker when we go to W-M (the coworker lives in Philly -- no W-M nearby). Well, for the exchange, I picked up a whole case (12 bottles/$6 worth) of this Key Lime soda. My wife put a big bow on in -- the coworker loved it. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Love/Heart-Beat.gif
  24. The school district doesn't do automatic deposits? Oh, and my wife got $350, not bad having only been there two months. Since I am self-employed, I think I'll take myself out to lunch.
  25. BH Photo has this item for $88.95 + $5.40 s/h: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/492818-REG/Pure_Digital_F130W_Flip_Video_512MB_Camcorder.html Not quite $49, but better than a long drive.
