  1. I am normally a fan of Walmart. Having been stung twice recently by their local stores "dubious" practices, I am less inclined to shop there, but, with prices the way they are, you often have little choice. I am sure not all the stores are as bad as my 2 local WM Superstores and that a lot of the employees do a great job for little reward . I just wish their corporate people had a bit more backbone and would take a dim view of what goes on at so many WM locations.

  2. This is the same Walmart that cannot even honor its own ads.

"Sale starts at 8am" Unless you are an employee, friend of employee, or, know  one of the many idiotic employees.

Walmart's motto should be "nobody screws us over until we've finished doing a whole bunch of screwing over legitimate customers."

  3. As usual, walmart is a waste of time. Got to my local store, was told they had 4 "left" and I was 4th in line. Then one of the associates calls over and says they only have 3 as someone else had already paid for theirs in advance of the start time.

All this happened before the 8am start time. When I spoke to an assistant manager I was told there had been a mistake by an associate and I was out of luck.

Calling their corporate office was also a huge waste of time as they appeared not to be bothered in any way by this screw up. They did say that the store was given a minimum of 10 TV's, so what happened to the other 6 is anybody's guess.

I have to say that I am not surprised. I would imagine this will be happening all over the place.

  4. Having sales starting at 12.01 am on Friday finally did it for me. Seeing the stores move their opening times back and back to where the yare this year is a joke.

I remember saying to my wife a few years back that it would not be long before the sales started at 1am. I'm pretty sure that there will be plenty of stuff left for the shoppers who show up after 7am.

  5. my wife got to Walmart at 5.15am and was able to get me the RCA 8GB MP3 player, plus some jeans for the kids.

i went to Target at about 9am and they still had quite a few of the cheap video games and the ladies sweaters my wife wanted.

i then hit Walmart and got a few of the dvd's on sale, a couple of the tracksuits and a pair of jeans for myself.

our Walmart still had a few of the Dell PC's and apparently a few TV's left.

my wife had never gone to a BF and was stunned at the lack of organization at Walmart.

  6. I thought Office Max did a great job today.

I got there at 6.15am and at 6.55am the manager came out to hand out tickets for the "sale" items and they had plenty of staff on hand to show you where the other on sale items were located.

I was in and out inside 20 minutes.

I shop there alot and it helps to get to know some of the employees at these stores.

  7. i chatted to a few people in line at Office Max and they said that Best Buy was terrible when it opened and that Kohls was just a scrum.

the Target store closest to me apparently only had a small line and they had more of the 37inch TV's than requests from the line. the store had every checkout already open at 6am and the shopping was easy.

    civilised shoppers in Omaha, Nebraska!!:yup::yup:

  8. i really wanted a new TV, but the wife nixed that plan.

i just went to Office Max and got there at 6.15am to find only 2 people ahead of me.

the manager came out at 6.55am and handed out tickets for the early bird items in their ad.

i got aMio GPS for $99.99 and a digital photo frame for $49.99, i also had a $15 card and a $3 credit for a used ink carridge.

i was at home and back in bed by 7.15am.
