  2. Subscribing to threads allows you to keep track of threads you're interested in (perhaps because you've posted in them). To subscribe to a thread, while on that thread's page, click the "Thread Tools" menu and click the "Subscribe to this Thread" option: - On the next page, select if you'd like to be notified by e-mail about new posts in this thread: - To view your currently subscribed threads, go to your user control panel by clicking on the "User CP" link at the far left of the blue navigation bar (to the left of the "GottaPoints" link) on every forum page: - You will then be brought to your User Control Panel which looks similar to this: - Then click on "List Subscriptions" to go to your list of subscribed threads: Subscribing to threads is similar to bookmarking web pages in your web browser. Viewing threads from this list is the same as viewing them from anywhere else on the forum - you can reply to them just as you would elsewhere. It's just a convenient way to keep track of threads that are important to you. If you have any questions about this issue, please reply to this thread :) Please keep all replies directly related to this topic. Off-topic replies will be deleted.
  3. When you come to the forum, threads are in bold when there have been new posts made in them since you last visited the forum. It has nothing to do with if you ever read them or not - just if there have been new posts since you last visited.

  8. The big difference is HD support. You can record two HD programs at the same time (while watching another recorded one).
  9. It goes on a store-by-store and item-by-item basis. Some stores put the stuff on sale on Thanksgiving, others wait until BF. For most items, they are available until they sell out. There is no way to know ahead of time, and what a store did last year means almost nothing as to what they will do this year.
  10. We probably won't have BF-specific shirts for several reasons: 1. in many areas it's so cold on BF that nobody will see them under coats 2. many people won't want to wear a BF on any day other than BF 3. i don't want to be stuck with half a box of BF shirts for another year So like conj said, if you want a shirt, we have regular GD shirts, and if those sell out, then I'll decide if we want to do something else, but it won't be BF-specific.
  11. Yes that's correct. You can transfer a lifetime sub from a Series1 or Series2 unit to a new Series3 for $199, and the existing unit will still get one year of service as well before you have to start paying monthly.

  13. From the Basics forum: Can I get Black Friday deals online? Also, we'll have many great deals available online during the next few months (as we do all year round), many of which will be as hot, if not hotter than those you'll find on Black Friday.
  14. This is the official thread for discussing Nintendo Wii Preorders. Please keep all related discussion in this thread. Nintendo Wii Tracker: NintendoWiiPreorders.com ** This thread is about finding and ordering a Wii ONLY - no resale or eBay discussions will be permitted, as this only leads to drama and problems. This serves as everyone's warning, so those violating this are subject to being banned. **
  15. You can exclude any forums you want from the "New Posts" list. See here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=47255
  16. Keep in mind that last year, we didn't start getting the real heavy traffic until we had the article on CNN.com on November 1st. This year all those people are going to be here from the beginning once we let them know the site is back up in a week or two.
  17. You are correct. Free shipping is no longer offered. This deal was originally posted about two weeks ago, and at that time it included free shipping.

  19. FYI: http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/2003.txt http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/2004.txt http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/2005.txt These are also helpful when you see a rumored list for this year - you can see if it is actually from a previous year :)
