Time for the next contest! Two of the words on this year's t-shirt are Deals and Tradition. To be entered to win, reply to this thread with either your favorite deal you've ever scored on Black Friday or your favorite Black Friday tradition. Or you can reply with both. Or multiples of both. Just keep it all in one post to make choosing winners easier. Contest will be open until 11pm ET on Sunday, October 24th. I will then randomly choose 15 members who entered and you'll win a brand new 2021 Black Friday t-shirt! Limit of one t-shirt prize per member but if you win you are still welcome to enter future contests for fun. For more info on this year's shirts and to order them if you wish, see this thread. Good luck to everyone!

It's at the top of the thread. If you are using the app you might not see it and will have to use a web browser to access the thread to vote.

Is there a guessing thread as to when the first ad will drop?
Brad replied to Peppermint's topic in 2021
We could see Best Buy's ad Tuesday for their BF preview sale. We'll have to see if any leak before that. -
Yeah I don't really like pullovers so this would have something likely embroidered on one side of the front chest. Don't know if I'd also do something on the back or sleeves - don't want it to be too busy since this is something you could wear year-round so it won't be BF-themed either.
-
These would be zip-up hoodies.

https://corporate.bestbuy.com/holiday-has-arrived-best-buy-announces-earlier-black-friday-guarantees-black-friday-prices/ October 19-22: hundreds of Black Friday deals available early (I'm guessing we'll see the full ad this day) November 19th: Best Buy starts their Black Friday sale a full week before Black Friday this year Will be interesting to see if they save doorbusters for the actual BF day or if you'll have to score everything on the 19th in store and online. They'll also have Member Mondays with with deals for My Best Buy members as well as a new price adjustment policy: "All of the deals in our Oct. 19 sale are covered by our Black Friday Price Guarantee, which means the price won’t go lower before Black Friday. If it does, we’ll automatically refund our My Best Buy and Best Buy Totaltech members the difference. No need to email or show us your receipt, just money back in your pocket."

Just a heads up as I don't know if it shows up for those who use the app but there is an actual poll question attached to this thread, so vote there (you might need to view the thread in a browser to see the poll). Sizes posted as replies won't count as I'll just assume those are repeats of how you voted in the actual poll.

Just a heads up that as of now I plan to stop taking orders for BF t-shirts on October 31st. Sizes may sell out before that but that is the final day for all sales. Get your shirts here: https://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/Shirts

I'm thinking about possibly finally doing full-zip hoodies next year instead of t-shirts. Rather than wait until everyone comes back next year to get a ratio of sizes I thought I'd start this poll and gather data over the next few weeks from all the BF "regulars" so we get a good response. So just pick the size that you'd most likely either purchase or choose if you were to win a hoodie. If you have multiple people in your household that would buy one, get them to sign up here and vote - only one vote per person. For the purposes of this poll assume the proposed hoodie runs pretty normal to slightly small on the sizing. If you plan on gaining or losing weight by next year, keep that in mind as well. Note: There is an actual poll question attached to this thread, so vote there (you might need to view the thread in a browser to see the poll). Sizes posted as replies won't count as I'll just assume those are repeats of how you voted in the actual poll. Thanks for your help

Yeah they were sent via slow 1st class mail, no tracking or anything so it could be awhile. I have like 4 extras in case a few get lost in the mail but we'll give it a few more weeks before worrying about that.
-
Hopefully none of them turned on during transit and had their batteries run out but I think they just use button cell batteries that can be replaced. I'll be sending out the last half dozen or so today so if you were late in replying, yours is on the way.

Sale is live. Seems pretty underwhelming at first glance. http://www.target.com/c/deal-days/-/N-xgolj

I don't think we had laptop charts in 2019 or 2020. The charts site is down for maintenance and likely won't be back until next year. You can search the text item lists from past years here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/topic/340688-black-friday-ads-from-the-past-dates-lists-scans/ and of course you can browse the actual ads from past years here: https://www.blackfridayarchive.com

Yeah nothing there. This sale could end up being a dud. Last year they had it to compete with Prime Day which was delayed to October. With no Prime Day to compete against this month, they may not put much effort into the deals.
-
We should get some kind of preview of the Deal Days sale late tonight (after midnight PDT) when Target puts up their upcoming Sunday sale ad on their site.
-
Guessing the generic 30% codes will continue for the rest of the year. The only question is will they go back to unique codes once Q4 is over. Will be good next month if they once again do the Veteran's Day $10 off $25 + 30% off + free shipping for MVC combo.
-
Good to know. Seems like this time of year to increase Q4 sales they send out 30% codes to nearly everyone (me, my sister and my mom all got 30% this time) so maybe they figured they'd have a public code for anyone to use.
-
Did Kohl’s ditch the unique codes? I see code GET30 for 30% off and OCTMVCFREE for free shipping. Can anyone who didn’t get 30% in the mail try that code and see if it works? Also if anyone who isn’t MVC can try that FS code to see if it works for everyone and report back.
-
Just a heads up that I’m seeing 4 times as many large shirts purchased/claimed as XL shirts where in other years the two sizes were pretty equal, so there’s a good chance larges might be gone much sooner than anticipated (unless I can make some last minute changes with the printer).

Time for another fun contest We've got a $50 Amazon Gift Card to give away along with 15 Black Friday T-Shirts. To be entered to win, reply to this thread with a link to something on Amazon that you think would make a unique gift idea and post a sentence or two about what it is and what kind of person you think it would appeal to. If you need ideas, Amazon released their Holiday Gift Guides and Holiday Toy List this morning. They also started their Epic Daily Deals pre-Black Friday sale. The contest will run through Tuesday, October 13th at 11pm ET. At that point I'll randomly pick someone to win the $50 gift card and 15 more people to win Black Friday t-shirts. As always, if you've already won a t-shirt you can't win another, but you can try for the $50 gift card. IMPORTANT! You can post & enter the contest once per day for up to 10 total entries. However to make things easier when picking winners, please do not post entries in the thread more than once per day. You can add additional items to your original post for that day if you'd like to post additional gift ideas. For more info on this year's shirts and to order them if you wish, see this thread. Good luck to everyone! Disclaimer: Amazon is not a sponsor of this contest.
