That was the Wednesday before BF (always the biggest day of the year for the site) so all the ads were already out by then. We had a very big news story hit (likely appearing on CNN's home page) that was unplanned and brought a huge amount of traffic to the BF site. Shortly before that story hit, we had posted a big, prominent link to the BF forum on the main BF site because we had posted all the online sale info on the forum, so when all that CNN traffic went to the BF site, many of them also clicked that big link to the forum which caused the spike here. We usually never have such a prominent "CLICK HERE" link to the forum on the BF site, which is a big reason that record hasn't been broken yet. There have been many occasions since that day when we've gotten more traffic (including a few times this year), but we'd rather have people on the BF site than the forum. So basically, if we wanted to set a new record, I could do it fairly easily whenever we get a big news story, but there hasn't been a reason to send all that traffic to the forum instead of keeping them on the BF site where the ads are. The servers can handle the surge of traffic much better on the BF site compared to the forum. When that record was hit back in 2007, I doubt many of those 3,677 people could access the forum because the servers were so overloaded, so that record doesn't matter too much to me.

It's been a few years since we've updated the "stock" avatars that the forum has built-in and so it's about time we give them a facelift. So, for those of you who have at least 25 posts (and therefore have the ability to have a custom avatar), if you are currently using one of the "stock" avatars, I'd suggest you save it to your computer just in case yours is one that doesn't make the cut. If you log in one day and see you don't have an avatar, you can re-upload it and all will be well (or just choose a new one if you aren't too attached to the old one). If you have less than 25 posts (and therefore can't have a custom avatar yet), you really don't have much of a choice. If your avatar goes away, you'll have to select a new one. We'll do our best to keep the more popular ones, but a lot of them (like the sport team logos) will get updates, so you'll have to re-select your favorite team with the new design. Now that Cyber Monday is over for at least one time zone, I've moved most of the threads from that forum to the Dead & Expired Deals forum. I'd suggest overhauling the design and try to show all the charts without the horizontal scrolling (vertical scrolling is fine of course), especially for those with smaller monitors or browsing on tablets. And increase the font size so things are easier to read. I noticed that on a lot of the columns, the header label was wider than any of the actual data in the chart, so to save width, maybe have the labels at the top of the charts (at least for columns where the data is just a few characters - yes/no, a single number, etc...) shown vertically at a 90 degree angle so it's tall, not wide.
