So do you open it careful and save it to use it again or do you just rip it open. I admit I do save some but for the most I just rip and throw.

same here if it's really pretty i'll save it but for the most part just tare through. i don't get wrapped gifts anymore so i'm usually yelling at the kids just tare it open, lol. i had some beautiful boxes saved but there was a flood in my basement and they got all wet and in the garbage they went, so there went that.

Boxes get saved (if they survive the unwrapping), gift bags definitely but wrapping paper is ripped to shreds and thrown hither and yon to create that most wonderful carpet of used gift wrap that appears at the end of every Christmas Morning.:yup:

Everything gets ripped here..paper, boxes all of it. Hubby uses way too much tape on everything that he wraps. There are sometimes he even uses duct tape for sealing boxes shut so as to prevent snooping! :giggle:

When we cleaned out my Mother-in-law's house she had a stack of saved paper about 10 inches tall in a box. She had never reused it and the paper at the bottom of the box was falling apart. :)
