elite2058 Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 Its a celeron, so it will be for just basic computering. I have one just like it and it is good for internet, but not games or heavy computering.
222deal Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Its better than a netbook for not a whole lot more money. If you are doing any type of gaming, working with videos/pictures though the celeron and only 2GB of ram on vista is going to be slow going. With that said, I like Toshiba laptops, you are getting better quality and more resale value as opposed to something like an Acer which also sells a lot of budget laptops. I like the color scheme to on a notebook this cheap. It looks almost like a big DS Lite :)
dancingmom Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I like this for my daughter. I wont feel so bad if she ruins this one.
shady24 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Nice deal, nice laptop. I bought one in March when it was on sale for $299. Couldn't be happier. Internet and basic laptop stuff is great. I bought 2GB more of Ram on Ebay for $20, and the things fly's. Not a gamer so no problem.
neile457 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 If it has 2gb ddr2 memory, you would need to buy 2 x 2gb ddr2 ram chips. The computer will optimally run with 2 chips together, not one by itself.
222deal Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Yeah, ram has gotten pretty cheap lately and it is a breeze to upgrade in a laptop.
