arelf27
Can someone please recommend some good winter shoes (boots) for dd3 and ds1. I'm looking for the store where to buy them and the brand. This winter I bought some boots for dd that have suade like material on the outside and fake furr on the inside from Kohl's. Well everytime she goes outside in the snow her feet get soaking wet (which is not good considering she's in daycare and they don't always change her into different shoes/socks afterwards) I've also bought my ds1 duckboots (sp?) from Kohl's and these look like they weight a ton and not very comfortable on his feet. So I'm at a loss here... I usually buy their spring/fall/summer shoes from Amazon from some of those expensive European companies but when I can find them at 70% off which makes them only like $17 a pair. These are all real leather and cushi and extremely good looking (actually wish they made some for me :)) but I haven't seen any boots there. I'm looking to buy some for next year but might have to buy some for this year as well, at least for DD... Thanks!!!
jbrawn26
I got my 2 year old daughter stride rite boots from zappos.com and my 7 yr. old Timberland boots from shoebuy.com they are both really good boots my son has recess twice a day and never has wet feet and says they're really comfortable and my daughter has only played outside in the snow 3 or 4 times but her feet were never wet when she came back in and she didn't complain of being cold. I think I paid around 35 for my daughters boots and 50ish for my sons had a coupon on my son's though

The prices are a little too steep for me though. I try not to spend more than $20 for a pair of shoes for my kids, because they grow out of them so quickly.. That's why I'm always looking for 60% deals!!
brithug00
Sorels are the way to go for little kids snow boots. We always wore them as kids. We always got the classic Caribou style, theyve got more styles now but the caribous have removeable "sock" inside they always kept us dry and so oo warm . we passed these down from kid to kid they were so durable. If you buy cheap boots they just wont last, and they leak. You can usually find sorels on ebay. Even a used pair should last forever. Check out their website for styles and specs, then buy them cheaper elsewhere. They are worth every penny.
