megandbri1121 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 If anyone stops in KB and sees some great deals please post. Great time to stock up on the birthday gifts for the year!
chrisjuvers Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I thought KB filed for bankruptcy? Are they still open?
chrisjuvers Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 KB Toys announced Monday that it will be closing its doors for good and has launched a liquidation sale at all 461 of its KB Toys, KB Toy Outlet, KB Toys Holiday, and KB Toy Works stores. Sales at KB Toys stores will begin at 40 percent off regular prices.
o_arlene Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I'm on vacation in Puerto Rico here KBtoys stores have had 40% for about 2 weeks. wonder if it would go to 75%?
pinkroses4mommy Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 When the K-B toys at our mall closed years ago, they kept increasing the percent off and at the very end, everything was 90% off and we got some awesome deals. It was in January, and I bought stuff for myself, my mom, and my MIL for the next Christmas. Hopefully, they will do the same thing now, because we have two KB outlets near me. I will try to check them weekly and post what the discount is.
Dutchess Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 KB is suppose to be at 50-70% now. They were (in my area) at 50-60 last week and up til Christmas eve. My understanding is most stores are suppose to close down by the 1st.
megandbri1121 Posted December 26, 2008 Author Posted December 26, 2008 thanks everyone. I'll stop by and check it out!
love2beurwifey Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Ours is at 50-60 % off but they barely have anything in there
mel_b Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I was just at one of our KBtoys this afternoon. All items were 50% off. While the shelves were pretty bare, I saw numerous items I had purchased for Xmas. Handy Manny, Little Einstein, etc. My mom scored some Star Wars figures for my son :) Oh...and she also bought some trading cards for another friend. So, I could have bought a bunch of stuff...but I had self-control!!
pinkroses4mommy Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I went in one of ours today, and everything was 50% off. There wasn't much left, but the cashier said that they had just gotten in 2 more trucks of stuff. She said that they were planning to close around the first of Feb. or the last of Jan.
sarah_carp Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I asked a clerk a few days ago when their last day was and she said Feb 5th. I wonder what they'll do with their online stores?
mel_b Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I noticed that they were opening boxes and stocking more too, so perhaps it would be worthwhile to go back and check for new items.
shoppinmama Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 My brother went to the KBtoys in Charleston, SC yesterday. He said everything is 50-70% off now. He bought an activity table for trains with bins under it for $35. He also bought a couple of either hot wheels or matchbox ramps for $5 each. He said he got a bunch of stocking stuffers as well. His son was with his mom for Christmas so he wanted to get some after Christmas deals for when he sees him today. Almost makes me want to go out there myself. We are swimming in toys here after Christmas and I can't imagine buying anything else right now, but dd's b-day will be here soon and it would be great to get some deals.
chrrey103 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 According to the Consumerist website KB Toys will not be taking their gift cards after tomorrowhttp://consumerist.com/5121272/kb-toys-giftcards-will-no-longer-be-taken-after-tomorrow
heathy4 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 In St. Louis they were 50 to 60% off the day after Christmas.
myervin2001 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Here in Atl they are 50-60% off but the store at Discover Mills Mall is just about picked clean. We did find a nice remote control boat for ds's bday in April and alot of barbies for dd and birthday parties thru the year. Spent $50 and walked out with the boat, model barbie, 3 other barbies, train set, Cars fishing, barbie case, baby doll and another toy for my great neice. Not bad I think we are done as far as birthdays for 2009.
arelf27 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Anything left at any of the stores? Was thinking of possibly going, just discovered we have one about 25 min. away but not sure if it's too late at this point??
siageah Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 You just have to go over and look. Ours received some trucks in last week. They didn't know if they were getting any this week. They aren't being told much right now. Our store was still at 50-70% (99% of everything is just 50%) on Sunday and still open. But they could shut down at any time.
msl94 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I know I am posting this late, but I was able to purchase a Playstation 2 bundle (console, extra controller, 2 games) from KB Toys at 50% off about a week ago. It was originally stickered at $189.99; however, I was able to buy it for $95.
pinkroses4mommy Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Halloween stuff was 80% off at ours. I got a Star wars clone costume for $2.xx and a princess wig for $2.xx. The wig was very nice and they had blonde, brown, and black.
pinkroses4mommy Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Everything went 60% off today at ours. "Impulse items" (the items that are at the cash registers) are 80% off, and books are 80% off. Holiday items are 70% off, and then an additional 20% off. Here are some things I got tonight: Easter Gift bags .29 Silly String .59 Elmo sound books 1.99 Star Wars playing cards $2.49 Spiderman transforming car $1.39 Cinderella sunglasses $1.19 Make sure that your items ring up correctly, as several of mine didn't. The cashier didn't notice, so I had to tell her.
mommy2justin Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 When I drove by the outlets yesterday the guys out front had signs saying 60-80% off and it was still 50% off last week.
booga12345 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 We were there yesterday. The signs said 60-80% off, but most everything was only 60%. They still had quite a bit of merchandise, but the place was a wreck and you really had to look for stuff.
arelf27 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 We were there yesterday. The signs said 60-80% off, but most everything was only 60%. They still had quite a bit of merchandise, but the place was a wreck and you really had to look for stuff.Did you happen to see any of Thomas Train stuff?
Scanner420 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 We were at the Deptford Mall last Sat and KB was an absolute madhouse! They had a sign 50-75% off storewide, but the place was just a mobscene. It's the first time my kids didn't want to go into a toy store.
booga12345 Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Did you happen to see any of Thomas Train stuff? I didn't notice any, but then again I wasn't really looking since my kiddos are too old for Thomas.
arelf27 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I went Today to check it out and didn't see anything at all even remotely interesting. Most signs said 60% off and there were also 70% off seasonal I think.
neboo Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Our Toy Works here closed years ago but I went the last day they were open when it was 90% off. Actually found some good deals as they were pulling stuff out of the back that hadn't seen daylight in years but were still brand new.
Timswife81404 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Our KB is closing for good on Thursday. Today everything was 70-90%. It was mostly 70%, but the impulse stuff was 90% and a few things were 80%. They were pretty wiped out, but I will be going back on Thursday to see what I can find.
