keycrew Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I have been patiently waiting for months (and will continue til I find a deal ) for a good quality rock tumbler for my DS 6 yrs old, has a lot of stones/rocks to tumble and the cheap kids models don't really work. If anyone comes across a bargain, please let me know , thanks
tokanm Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I have been patiently waiting for months (and will continue til I find a deal ) for a good quality rock tumbler for my DS 6 yrs old, has a lot of stones/rocks to tumble and the cheap kids models don't really work. If anyone comes across a bargain, please let me know , thanks I had one of these as a kid..it was the loudest thing you ever heard It had to tumble constantly to get that shiny effect..my father finally had enough andtossed it out He said if you need shiny rocks we will buy them
laddhorn Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Lapidary supply companies usually sell the good quality/professional models. Ebersol is one company that I can think of right off the top of my head. Have you looked at those type places?

jerseygirl Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 (IMO) It's 1 NOISY month of your life you'll NEVER get back................ And, the quality of the rocks tumbled are pretty crappy. GM bought one for DD(then 7) last Christmas.
ilalynch Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I found one for $19.99 at Hobby Lobby. This was my husband's idea.
keycrew Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 Thank for all the replies, sorry for the slow response. I will check out the suggestions. I am willing to spend the money on a good one, hoping that the results will be better than the usual kids versions but I may be wrong. I planned on putting outside in the shed for the month, I have heard about the noise , wow!
