I'm trying to buy a laptop right now, but I can't enter any of the coupons! It gives me this message:

The following coupons have been entered but require additional information or do not meet eligibility requirements. Click "View Details" link(s) for more information.

I think that it might be because of the MIR, but I can't remove it, so I'm stuck with a 300 MIR. Any help would be appreciated.

what model are you trying to get? are you sure you are using one of the E-Value codes listed in the original deal?

An Inspiron 6000, yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm using the right codes because it's accepting them, but it isn't applying them and giving me that message. Have you tried putting in the codes? Thanks for helping!

if you can, tell me which of the 3 available 6000 configs you are doing (11111-i6000A1, 11111-i6000A2 or 11111-i6000A3) and then any changes/upgrades you made to it and i'll see what happens when i try to do it.

Actually, I'm juggling two options right now. I'm starting to think that it would be better to go with a 9300. Although it will be heavyer, I'm thinking that the 17in screen would be better for my bro because he has an astigmatism (sp?) and another eye disease, so a bigger screen is easier on his eyes. Right now, it is:

-1.6 PM 533 FSB

-1 gig ram

-64 MB ATI x300

-base HD and CD-rw/DVD rom (he has regular comp, so doesn't need more)

-6 cell and extra 9 cell battery

-1 year warrenty

Total is 1,907.00 brought down to 1,157.00 with free shipping

If his vision isn't that great, you want the LOWEST resolution LCD display.

So don't upgrade to the more expensive 17" LCD on the 9300, just keep it the standard/low end option.

Congratulations :)

I'm trying to get a 6000 (1.6), Windows XP Pro, 15"WXGA, 512mb, 80GB,DVD Burner,Wireless b,g, Microsoft Office Small Business, Norton Security,External USB Floppy, Tripplite Surge supressor. I've got it to $1,794.00 before shipping and tax. Is this the best I can do?? If anyone can help I know the guys/gals at this forum can help. :)

Hi pmptg,

:2welcome: to the forums, please make yourself at home :)

That's a pretty loaded laptop. I did a similiar configuration (minus Tripplite and external USB floppy) and my total came out to $1,864?

I would consider removing the Norton Internet Security. There are plenty of free applications which act as a firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware. But if this is for someone who is not-so-computer savvy, then you should probably get it.

One thing you should NOT skimp on is the warranty. You don't have to get at home or complete care but definitely go for at least 2-3 years warranty coverage. Remember laptops are not cheap or easy to fix. Upgrading to the 2 year at home warranty is only $124 which is well worth it. Also most premium credit cards offer free 1 year extended warranty on electronics/computer purchases.

Thanks for the quick response, I am actually getting it for my Uncle and YES this is a loaded setup. He has had a bad experience with a virus previously and he is gung ho on the Norton and after your suggestion he might just go ahead with the extended warranty. Thanks again for the quick response.

I tried to use this coupon, and I am I quite sure that I followed the directions correctly however I get a page that says. We're sorry but we are unable to process your request. Is there something you think I'd be doing wrong?

Hi BL,

Please try again using this link.

Remember to configure a Dell Inspiron laptop to $1899 or more in order to use $750 off coupon code SD8STR$BW13B46

If you're still having difficulty, please let us know which model you are configuring and all the exact specifications.

Hope this helps and :2welcome: to the forums :)
