Clothes from Aero would be good- nicer but cheap brand. Claires accessories. CD's or MP3 player. Room decor- books- what is she in to? The dad, what does he do? Work boots? Boot warmer (dont know where you are), fishing, hunting, sports...the men are full of endless possibilities but they are all so different.

And kudos for doing what you are- I would love to be able to adopt a family. It is a goal of mine to be financially stable enough to give a great Christmas to another family.

My family all likes gc to places like McDonalds or other similar places. No car. Hmmm... that is tough. I agree magazines are great but you need their name and address, not sure if you have that. If you do, I have had wonderful luck getting ones on eBay. If you do, then 17 magazine for the girl might be great. I taught high school and the girls all had purses, compact mirrors to look at themselves, fun bracelets, etc... Those extras that they probably don't buy right now with limited income.

My dd is 14 and loves www.littlemissmatched.com

They have toe socks, knee highs, anklets, shorter socks, gloves, slippers, shirts etc....I even have some of their socks...and the best thing I think is that you get 3 so if one gets a hole in it, you have another.

Oh and all of my dd's friends love www.pre-wrap.com They use it as headbands.

They sell these at my local Hallmark store. They had gloves and many diffrent styles of socks. I got some for my sister for Christmas, they are very cute.

Yep, I saw them at a different local sort of store and that is how I found out about them.

Now we just look online and buy the ones we want. Complete selection!

They are also based out of Iowa where the floods were so are a smaller company that seems to be really great at customer service. Occasionally when we have ordered, they send a free 3pk of socks just because.

My 14 year old cousin loves Carebears and Bratz so that's what she mostly gets. In addition to clothing. Hoodies are always a good choice. One thing her and her older sister constantly fight over is lipgloss so I bought plenty for both.

Fill a little Caboodles thing with girly stuff. Little travel sized body wash, soap, a razor (Schick Intuition Plus is a good one), face wash, attitude socks (I'm a happy bunny fan myself :)), Ms. Manicure stuff, things like that.

To bad you don't have a Five Below in you area. They have tons of teenagey (is that a word?) items. :)

My daughter is 14 and here is what she has asked for, though she does not get it all:

Twilight posters

make-up

jewerly

flash drive

CD's (Nickelback and Saving Abel)

Hope this helps!

not to threadjack - but have you seen a copy of 17 magazine lately? I picked up one in the ortho office the other day and it was NOT a magazine for anyone younger than 18 IMHO. There were articles about sex, birth control, etc. I was floored! It was definately not the 17 magazine from when I was a teen! Maybe I'm just a prude, but I would not want DD17 or DD14 reading that!

Here are a few other suggestions:

14 year old girl:

Now 29 - CD

Narnia, Prince Capsian - DVD

a small makeup kit

gift card to your local mall

some really nice smelling shampoo and conditioner

body wash and a bath sponge

disposable razors and shaving cream

Dad

disposable razors and shaving cream

gift card to local drugstore - CVS or Walgreens

Christmas tie

grocery store gift card

pizza delivery gift cards

It's so hard because you don't know their financial situation. I said the CD, but I would hope she would have a CD player - same thing for the DVD. You just never know. Maybe if you got the CD, you could also get her an inexpensive CD player.
