MidwestMama
My son is a patient there and has been for the last 3 years. We have gotten LOTS of their merchandise and it is very well made. There are also Halloween and thanksgiving items on there as well as pretty watches, etc... It goes to a really wonderful cause. The doctors here told us he would not survive, perhaps had 6 months to live. We went to St Jude and he is doing well 3 years later. His medical bills to St Jude have been over $350,000 of which insurance only paid $78,000 and we have never received a bill, St Jude covers it all. And they paid for our housing when we were living down there for treatment. It is an amazing place and if you can support a wonderful cause AND get great deals even better right! So thanks for any purchases/donations that you do because it really really helps!

My son is a junior in high school and he is hoping to be able to work with St Jude after college. He is going to major in molecular biology and chemistry. He spoke with someone who works for St Jude just recently and she told him that they were always looking for researchers. St Jude is such a wonderful organization!! krisanderic
MidwestMama - thank you for your post. My husband, boys and I are ongoing supporters of St Jude. I am happy to hear your son is doing well, and hopefully people will continue to find something in their pocket, either by direct support, or by purchasing merchandise, to support such a great cause. Healthy Holidays to your family.
OkGO
I will add another patient story to this and to let everyone know how much their donations or purchases help. My husband was a patient @ St. Jude's. He was just released last yr as "cancer free" and is now part of a post treatment study for the next 5 yrs or so. He had hodgkins lymphoma and was accepted @ St. Jude's. He had no insurance and they treated him FOR FREE. Even now, when he goes for his yearly checkups, they bill our insurance (always in the THOUSANDS of dollars) and we NEVER get a bill for the remainder. They have gone above and beyond for him, helping him with after care issues (trouble getting insurance, etc) and been wonderful to our family. They really are like a family to us. The work they do there is absolutely amazing. I love returning every year, there is just so much hope there, and they are saving the lives of children. The work they do there and the care they give their patients is just amazing.
