nikkilugi
I LOVE my Garmin and of course I also love that Garmin is a US based business - right here in the heartland of Olathe Kansas, LOL. Especially now I feel it is important to support our US based businesses. That being said I have a C300 I think and it does talk to me with steet names which is nice. The nuvi's are really nice too - they are thin and easier to take with you when you need to leave your car (don't leave them in view because people are breaking into cars to get the GPS units). Definitely get one that says the street names as most of the newer models do.

OhioRuth
Also does anyone have one they prefer. I know I want it to talk to me.While most, if not all, GPS units talk to you, you want one that gives you the street names not just "turn right". I also have a Garmin and am happy with it - I travel a lot for work and am in areas I'm never familiar with so it's also nice to have the feature that shows you what's around like restaurants, shopping, points of interest, etc. I also work part-time and volunteer at a local nature center that is shopping for a GPS now so was looking at the newer ones - you can now get them to show you gas prices. One other feature I would recommend is a larger screen (4.3" as opposed to 3.5"). Even though you agree not to look at the screen when driving, it's impossible in some areas not to and having that larger screen is nice.
Trishy
We have the 660 that I really like because it has a truck feature. When we pull the camper we use that because it keeps you off of roads thast have low bridges and weight limited bridges which might pose a big problem when traveling. com
We have a Garmin Nuvi 260W and absolutely love it. I prefer this one because it announces street names, not just "turn right". I got it on sale at Radio Shack, I paid around $170, and it's worth every penny. I'm a nervous driver when I don't know exactly where I am, this helps sooooooooo much, even if I miss a turn, it just recalculates and get's me there in spite of myself. kardomr
i also cannot imagine life without our garmin nuvi. it speaks---or not. it saves addresses searched so you don't have to type them in again. and, as someone said, it's nice to have the feature that finds restaurants, shops that are in the area. we've used that several times when we want to stop at a park or restaurant or grocery store while on vacation. totally worth every penny.
