i-bystander Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Short and sweet - help me find a good deal on an elliptical machine... hopefully around $300-$400 (or below). :)
Keebelf Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 do you have a Play it Again Sports in your area? Check with them and see if they have anything..... Otherwise, Walmart.com, Target, Kmart, I think even Sams Club has them. But the price is going to depend on how nice/state of the art you want it. Or, if you have a Goodwill or City Rescue Mission, check out those places.
RossMAN Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 I wonder if the Target.com 10% off coupon would work on an elliptical machine? Of course you probably won't receive free shipping due to the weight.
RossMAN Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 check with Overstock.com!Great suggestion!Keys Fitness DVV5.2EL Dual Action Elliptical MachineProForm 880 S Heart Rate Control EllipticalProForm 1080 S Interactive Elliptical TrainerKeys Fitness 707EL Cardiomax Elliptical Machine
Keebelf Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 I think I should get a free T-shirt for that.....hehe.
i-bystander Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 Yeah, I was going to check out the Play It Again stores around here, but I haven't had a chance yet. The ones at the stores you mentioned seem a little bit too flimsy - same with the only one at Overstock at my price range.
mrn8 Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Key's Fitness equipment is made very well. I would stay away from Pro-Form, however. I have a Pro Form treadmill, and it works ok, but it's not very solid.

mrn8 Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Well, my Pro-Form treadmill hasn't broken, but I've only owned it for 1.5 years. However, the platform squeaks quite loudly. The running surface slips if I get going fast, and which means that the rollers aren't holding the track as well as they should. That being said, the motor has been flawless, which is saying a lot for a consumer level treadmill.
jamesave Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 There is a thread over at fatwallet that say that Reeboks elliptical is on sale *$299* at costco (YMMV): This is the product:http://store.reebok.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1271287 And this is the thread from FW:http://www.fatwallet.com/t/18/475795 and it's in IL.
CarpeDiem Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Wallmart has one in the store that was on clearance for I think 130.xx check it out.
i-bystander Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Checked out the local CostCo and they're all out - ended up getting this model from Dick's. :)
