Brad Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Many details here: http://consumerist.com/5074161/updated-breaking-circuit-city-closing-155-stores Looks like the closed stores may be open on BF, but won't honor the BF ad (or any of CC's ads) and will just be liquidating merchandise. Of course if you are in these areas, you might be able to order CC BF ad items online. Either way, this could be the final BF for CircuitCity.
elena_398 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 My CC is still showing up on the locator. I may still be ok
TheLegend Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Just tried my zip code and the locator came back with "There are no Circuit City Stores within a 100 mile radius of Phoenix, AZ." Looks like CC is completely leaving Phoenix Metro (4-5 stores think). But they are still keeping the two stores in Tuscon and one in Yuma...... for now.
RyK55 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Just tried mine... Im all clear for my stores in Aurora and Canton, but after that.... who knows
ObiRich Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Looks like they are staying in Utah. All 5 stores still listed on the website.
Xfeg Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Thank God!!!! My black friday store isnt closing. I go further away because the other one sucks. This will really screw up the line thing though. Maybe they wont tell anyone and theyll all line up at the closing store!!
chrissy1979c Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 They just opened a Circuit City in our area. We never had one until just a few months ago.
Ravenseye Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 hmm...the ones within my region are still there...too bad. I dislike that store... -Mike
debbha Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Bummer...all 3 in my area are going away!!! Guess I'll start stalking the aisles to see if they discount anything. That might explain why I've gotten no ads in the paper for the last two weeks.
cherry33778 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 None of my stores are closing! Thank goodness because our area cannot take another closed store.
Guest CS.Dean Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 just checked the store locator and our store is NOT showing up
slinkster65 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Looks like they are closing the one closest to me In marietta (just north of Atlanta). The closest one will be 45 miles away and after that the next closest is in Tennessee. Not a shock to me though, they rarely have a lot of cars in the parking lot...even on weekends. I used to shop there mainly for DVDs, but then it got to the point where I wuld want 1 or 2 they had on sale in a given week and I would be there 30 min trying to check out and the associates would just stare and stand around so I would ahve to wait for the 1 person at customer service who wasa ctually doing their job. For the alst year+ I have got all my DVDs at BB, Target or Amazon.
mgmckny Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 the ones in my area are staying open if the store locator is correct. THe Jacksonville Fl area.
magickallight Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 This is so strange - they are building a HUGH CC over my way... wonder if it will open or not?!?
dswright Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Looks like Nicholasville Rd Lexington, KY is gone but Hamburg remains. I checked in Ohio and it looks like nothing remains between Canton, OH and Cleveland, not sure how many were left in the Akron area.
loves30 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 a bunch r staying open in my area but the one i go to across the street from work did not come up in freehold nj..
Illinoismom Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I checked my sisters zip code as we do not have CC and two pages of stores are staying open
samisma Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 shoot. says there isn't one within 100 miles of buckeye either. we just had that new store open up. that shopping center is doomed. first shoe pavillion and mervyns, now circuit city.. all thats left is bru & tru. now i'm curious if the closing stores will have steeper discounts than the bf stores?!
Abe1787 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 CC has posted the official list of stores that are closing on this page: http://newsroom.circuitcity.com/announcement.cfm Just click on Store Closing List.
MeliesMom Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 My store isn't closing. None that close to me are closing.

Tara3117 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 It looks like none of the MA or NH stores are closing, which is great. I like some healthy competition!

kmbrly Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 3228 CHARLOTTE UNIVERSITY 8215 UNIVERSITY CITY BLVD CHARLOTTE NC 28213Sigh. I just drove past this one yesterday when I went to Target. I was kinda excited since it's so close to my house. Oh well, maybe I'll score some good deals as it closes.
AndreaInNC Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I have 2 CC within a 10 miles radius of my house .. both of them are safe.
