hdebo
Anyone worried about the safety of cars and houses from the little pranksters on mischief night? I know I am not worried as I scared all the begeezes out of the little kids a few years ago. A few nights before mischief night I put up a scarecrow in the front yard only to find it torn down each morning. So on mischief night I put the scarecrow clothes on with a burlap sack over my head and stood there waiting for them. Not long after here comes three kids, one carrying a wiffle ball bat. So as they get close I spring to life and grab the one closest to me and watch the other two run off screaming, leaving thier friend for dead. I drag the scared kid to the back yard and give him a good dousing with the hose. No kids have messed with my stuff since. I thought you might enjoy my little prank. Happy Halloween. elena_398
The pranksters is why we don't buy pumpkins anymore. For the last 5 years, they smash them. All over our street are pumpkins. We even stayed up one night and put the pumpkins on the front porch. Kids are quick and quite good... Smashed. UGH

nikkilugi
We have a HUGE set up this year for Halloween in our yard and we actually have spent quite a bit of dough this year to construct it. We built 7 ten foot sections of "cemetery" fencing with pvc. We also have built 2 six foot pillars to flank the opening of our cemetery. We have over 15 tombstones - an oblisk - a pillar with a huge gargoyle. A 7+ foot scarecrow. I have pics I have taken which I need to download and then I will post them because I am quite proud of our yard. My dh put up a survelliance camera we bought at Aldi's this year. He has set it up to a vcr to tape each night so that way if we do get vandalized we will have it on tape and hopefully will know which kids in the neighborhood it was. I sugested chaining our boxer outside, LOL but she is an inside dog and couldn't take the chilly nights now but I know she would scare the poop out of someone coming into the yard because she hates anybody coming near her fence. We have had some problems during the last few Christmas seasons with vandalism so the camera will probably stay up permanently. It does help that my husband is a LP manager as he knows how to operate and set up all of that stuff.
