Actually Class 1 has a range of around 100m (300 feet) and Class 2 is around 10m (30 feet). Obviously for something like this there is no need for the increased range of a Class 1 device as you will not typically be over 30 feet from your phone when using this headset.

the above link even show that with a directional antenna, the range for a class 2 can actually goes up to 1.08 miles. yup. from 10 m to 1.78km!

lol. well either way, the range doesn't really matter for this item, since you will most likely using it a few feet from your phone at the max, and your phone probably has a small range itself.
