Stowasser
Hi Looking for Kingston 2GB ( 2 x 1GB ) PC2 5300 667MHz 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 Laptop Memory for under $40 (knew should of bought two last November) for my mom's new Compaq F761US (and if that isn't what I need to upgrade, can you please PM me with the right RAM upgrade, had trouble finding what I needed). Would like to spend under $40 if possible. If there are other brands that are just as good, please post those deals too! com
Does it have to be 2x1gb? You can get a 2gb stick of PNY for under $40(Newegg.com), same with Kingston. According to the specs I looked up on that laptop it tops out at 3gb of memory, so you should be able to put in a 2gb stick and leave in one of the sticks that came with it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820178165 PNY http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134549 Kingston.....I think this one has free shipping. RossMAN
Does it have to be 2x1gb? You can get a 2gb stick of PNY for under $40(Newegg.com), same with Kingston. According to the specs I looked up on that laptop it tops out at 3gb of memory,That's what I did with my laptop and it's definitely easier. If you were to upgrade to 2GB (2x1GB) you'd have to replace RAM:1) by carefully removing the keyboard, insert RAM and snap keyboard back on.2) by flipping laptop over, remove 2 small screws, insert RAM, screws back in and you're done! If you buy a single 2GB SO-DIMM you can go with option #2 :) Laptop RAM
