Mike Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 This is has a little bit more work invovled and not so hot for the XT or 20D. The Nikon D70 Ok, CirucitCity.com has the D70 for $1139.99. They have the Epson R200 photo printer for $100. There are $260 in mail in rebates available. There is also a rebate for 10% of your purcase back on a giftcard. My math $1139 D70$100 R200 $1239-$100 Nikon MIR-$100 Printer MIR-$60 CC MIR-$124 10% GC-$70? Ebay the printer... $785 is your final cost.. There are also a few circuit city coupon codes floating around if you can find them. There are either $10, $15, or $30 off which could potentially bring the D70 kit down to $755. If you have a credit card with BVG...it could get even lower. Links: D70 10% off GC Now for luke warmness... You can use the same deal for the XT or 20D...but looking at dell prices...not that great. 20D = $1183XT = $845(Silver Only)300D = $639 All 4 of these are the kits, the 300D, 350d and 20d have the 18-55...the D70 has the 18-70 lens.
RossMAN Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 CheapArse, Just curious do you own a DSLR? If so which model? I wonder if we can sell this on eBay for a decent profit?
Mike Posted April 18, 2005 Author Posted April 18, 2005 My Rebel XT is on back order from Dell, ships may 2nd With the recent deal on the d70 from buydig.com($900 AR w/no tax)...I think you'd be hard pressed to make a profit that would be enough to counter all the work involved. Though, if you found other outlets to sell it at... During the dell outlet deals, ebay was flooded with them...luckily for me...craigslist was not. Made a nice profit on each one, and you could do the same thing perhaps with the D70 if you have craigslist available in your area. Though, a quick check of ebay I can see some with a smidge of time left over $1k...would be a nice ~$200 profit or so. EDIT: A little bit more for you b/c you don't have to pay tax...
rainregen Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Hi there, I am looking to buy a digital SLR camera for a friend.. and as it is expected (and known) of girls, I am not an electronics freak My friend wants either the Nikon D70 or the Canon Rebel XT model. I did look at both your posts, but I havent understood what you mean by the "10% GC" discount.. plus how tax n zip code pays a role in the pricing. I could opt for a New Jersey delivery (07031) or a New York one (10019)- would it make a difference? I would be really really glad if you could help me on getting a deal for one of these cameras! I found a few info on the Dell deals for the Rebel XT, but they were only for the first 1000, so they've been used up already Thanks so much in advance, hope you can help me! rain

So if your purchase was $1,000 you would receive a 10% GC which is $100 gift certificate to Circuit City. To redeem this GC please use this link as posted by the OP (original poster).
