Restaurant.com ShoppingEssentials Scam

Has anyone else been getting charged from a company called Shopping Essentials? After a 2 sec. google I found out they often get your cc# from restaurant.com. I have contacted restaurant.com and my cc company, but I am so ticked!!!!

Thank you SO MUCH for the heads up. I just used this site for the first time on Saturday, so I'll be sure to check my cc statement very carefully now. I really thought it was a legit, safe site!

Restaurant.com is not the only website you have to watch out for. This happened to dh when he signed up at classmates.com. After reading your link it is happening at a bunch of legitimate websites. I don't understand how a reputable business would even want to be associated with such a company that would scam people out of their money.

I don't either. Just be careful. These people are hooked to legit sites, but they themselves are "shady".

When you order from Restaurant.com there is a box to uncheck if you don't want to sign up for that additional offer. If you do not uncheck it, they charge the money to your credit card. A lot of people miss it because it is very easy to pass by. You just have to be really careful when you place your order.
