Brad Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I know a lot of you have asked for the chat room to come back, so we're going to try it out to see how things go and then decide whether or not to keep it. You can access it by clicking the "FlashChat" link in the top blue menu bar, or on the forum home page, towards the bottom it shows the users currently in the chat room, and you can click on the icon on the left side to go into the room. Or you can just click here: http://forums.gottadeal.com/misc.php?do=flashchat&room=1 If you have any issues with the chat, reply here or send me a PM. Thanks :)
bayhaysay Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I for one am thrilled to see chat back. Good times in there.
nirvana4all Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 ****[nirvana4all] 5:09 pm: If gottadeal was only a chat, I would give this a 5/10, with this just being a supplement, I think it should work rather well.
Brad Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 yeah it's not meant to be anything more than just a fun extra feature. there aren't many options for a chat system with vBulletin forum integration, and this is clearly the best of the few choices, so it's what we have :)
ang625 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 i just tested it out....i like it...basic, easy to use and gets the job done....thanks brad!! :):)
DramaQueenLucy Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I really like it it has enough options to keep me busy...but not to much to confuse me lol

jrudy01 Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 very cool But I got a question, can you set up the flashchat button to open in a new window. This way we can continue browsing the forums. No biggie. you can still manually open a 2nd browser window
lisamag Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I like the flash chat but i think alot people if running older computers will have an issue although the phpmychat can't accept aol users well they accept them but you can't be using the aol browser?i confused, i have aol and i had no problem getting in the chat room, no one was in there to chat with but i was there. what is "phpmychat"? brad i like it. thanks for bring it back. i didn't get to use it the last time you had it up as i was new to the forums, heck i'm still finding things i didn't know was here lol.

fulfam Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 The room is really nice, but is there anyway to get some different smilies in there?
Brad Posted February 23, 2008 Author Posted February 23, 2008 The room is really nice, but is there anyway to get some different smilies in there? The smilies are built-in to the chat and are not too easy to change. The chat is just an added "fun" feature, and so adding smilies is not very high on the priority list. It works, you can type messages, and that's all that really matters right now :)
Xfeg Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I really like it. Im excited that this was implemented. and PLEASE dont make it pop up in a different window... well i dont think that matters. if you do something make it firefox friendly is all i ask.
fulfam Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 What issue are you having when you use firefox? I use firefox and don't have any issues. Thanks Brad, I figured that they couldn't be changed easily, and it's not that big a deal just figured I'd put it out there because I've seen a few people mention it.
