ljl3185
I just purchased a Panasonic 50'' Plasma TV for my husband and it is in the process of being shipped. I was just wondering if anyone know what kind of cables we would need to hook it up and where I can get them for a good price (not into paying $90 for cables). Going to be hooking up to a directv box. Also, I have heard that you can't hook up a playstation 2 to hdtvs - is this true and if so do they make a cable that makes it possible to hook one up to the tv? Thanks in advance!!! tokanm
Well we have PS2 but it is hooked up elsewhere. We have a Plasma tv, and direct tv and we have both X-Box 360 and a Wii all hooked up..no problems (of course DS20 did all the installations) He said you need a HDMI cable and you may need those red, white yellow ones but that should be it. Good Luck
DaveL
Get the cables at monoprice.com! They are so so much cheaper and the quality is just as good if not better! I got a bunch of cables including 2 HDMI's that were at least 25ft long and it was less than $100! Check them out...they are highly recommended by most. emptynest-2
You can hook up you DirecTv receiver different ways. 1) Composite Yellow for Video and red & White for Audio 2) HDMI This carries Video & Audio 3) Componet Green, Blue & Red for Video and Red & White for Audio Just depends upon what your receivers outputs are HDMI, Componetor Composite Hope this helps
ljl3185
Thanks guys! This helps some even though I'm pretty electronics illiterate. From what I have read the only additional cord I should need is an HDMI, right?
