So lets admit it's really only a good deal if your kids actually play and use it. :tongue1: Just wondering what your kids hits and flops were for this season.

DD (almost 6)

Hits-

BUTTERSCOTCH :):)

Leapster games

Flops-

Phonics workbooks (Santa's giving me homework?)

Veggie tales nativity set- I think she may have been a bit old for it. I'll get it out next year with the decorations and she'll probably play with it.

DS (11yrs)

Hits

Guitar Hero 3

Playstation 2 (prev. one broke about 6wks ago)

Notre Dame coat (he actually cried. it's a really sharp coat that I never would have known about if it wasn't for this site. Great price too!)

bike

Flop-

handheld football game from Kolh's. (doesn't work)

thanks to everyone for posting deals. My kids say this was the best Christmas ever!

Did anyone give their kids the FlyPen system? Holy crap its complicated. LOL. My husband and I were scratching out heads trying to get the darn thing to understand what we write and recognize the words. UGH. This was a huge hit when he first opend, but I have a feeling it will be a miss withing a week or so.

I actually think the only miss with my kids this year was Amazing Allysen from my mom to my DD (6) THIS THING IS THE MOST HORRIBLE TOY ON EARTH! I can literally give you

20+ reasons NOT to buy this doll

And Moon Sand, all of my kids HATED it...they are 9, 6 and 4. Granted my 9yr old HATES anything messy, he gets it from ME!

Everything else they absolutely LOVED!

Tried to get ours going b4 xmas morning , ya know so it would be ready to use, but its such a PITA that we didnt give it to him. We just got him something else. Thing was , I got his from BzzAgent, so no return there for its useless self. Maybe when I have les holiday stress and more patience, say around spring break Illl get back to it.....LOL...

Hits here were the PSP systems we got both boys, they love them and I finally figured out what my WPA Key was for the router to get them online, was easy once i remembered what it was.....LOL.... and they always get a slew of gift cards from everyone as they are hard to shop for.

We really didnt have any flops...

DS (15)

Only 1 miss- which was Rockband- it's not really getting touched too much. I was suprised.

WOW~ We've been playing as a family since we opened it and my DS is only 9, he doesn't get the hang of the drums on the faster songs but he LOVES the guitar and the mic! His Christmas money is going towards ANOTHER guitar so him and daddy can play guitar and bass at the same time while I do drums ;)

Everyone thought it would be too complicated for my Ds who has never played guitar hero but it is by FAR FAR FAR the best present we got this year. DD(6) even likes to sing along and DS(4) got real drums and we brought those in the living room and he "thinks" he is playing with us too!

So far no bad misses here of course 3 of them do not live at home anymore so there may be some.

DD19 Loves her guitar and all the clothes fit except for some underclothes that we can return for the right size. Blue Toothworks great

DS17 Wii has been a hit even though he did not ask for one. loves the camera from grandma, and all clothes fit except for one shirt. He got 12 UMD's for his PSP and loves them. The only thing he did not get and wanted was a watch and he gets that for his BD today. We did have to return his camera and blue tooth because neither worked but everything is okay now.

DD4 No misses that I can tell so far. I thought the smartglobe was not working but now it is doing fine. I am just glad I went out Christmas Eve and bought the the Eyeclops. She told me on the 23rd that she wanted it the most. I told her all the shopping was done. One Christmas Eve morning she says its okay if I don't get the eye toy I want maybe I can get it next year. Grandma and I looked at each other and left to get it. I even remembered to buy a converter so it work on our TV.

I am so with you on this one. DD9 is very advanced when it comes to computer related things and is very frustrated with this one. I may put it up for 6 months or so, which is sure to disappoint.

No real misses here.

Hits:

Wii/Guitar Hero 3 (DS 14)

Ipod Nano/Digital Camera (DD 12)

and surprisingly they both really like the Rubik's Revolution and Deal Or No Deal Handheld Games I got at Walgreens with coupons!

My 3 year old niece made sure everything was a hit...every present she would open she would jump up and down yelling "that's just what I wanted!" Even if she had no idea what the present actually was! LOL!

My DD4 did this too! She said "that's just what I always wanted" for everything! It was too cute! I love this age! :)

One miss we had that was surprising was the Bratz mansion. She did say it was "just what she always wanted" but then added that it wasn't Barbie and hasn't bothered with it since! Maybe if I take it out and set it up she'll change her mind? Or should I return it? I DID get the Amazon deal for $30 w/ FS so I'd hate to return it for the more expensive Barbie one! Any suggestions?

Pretty much all hits here (except there are toys still unopened due to the volume received..lol) There could be some misses in there that have not been discovered.

Needless to say, S'Mores (Butterscotches friend) is a HUGE hit as is Butterscotch for my Goddaughter.

The Dora TV Adventure Globe has been a huge hit.

The Snugglekins (Fisher Price..kind of like Furreal Friends) were a huge hit. The Furreal lamb has been adored (more than I had anticipated). I still want a kitty!

The Dora Mermaid items (found awesome deals on them during Amazon's sale) were better received than I had anticipated. The only bummer is the one that turns around and tells stories didn't work right within 5 minutes after opening the package. KUDOS to Amazon for sending a replacement...it's on it's way. They didn't wait for the defective one to be returned before sending it. wooohooo

The Belle Tea Party would've been a bigger hit had the batteries in the saucer worked (the key to making it interactive). I'll be purchasing the replacements today (they are button batteries). Other than that, it's adorable!

The educational plug and play toys I bought went over well. They are just a little advanced for my daughter but will definitely grow into them and she seems to be enjoying them. I think they will be great learning toys for her.

The bike was a big hit. Pretty much all of the toys for the kiddos I buy have been a hit....can't think of any misses yet.

most of dd's stuff hasn't been opened yet LOL we've been sick for the last couple of days so we just have boxes all over the house...

she does love butterscotch as I suspected (thanks Nana) she keeps her in her room and covers her up at night and turns her on first thing in the morning and feeds her LOL

another big hit has been LPS around the world set plus extras I picked up during the TRU sale ..

So don't know what the misses are yet LOL
