sthack Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 On BF I purchased 2 laptops from CC and also paid for PC set-up/installations. The cashier told me to see one of the Firedog Associates to get a Work Order started for the PC set-up/installations. I received a Work Order form and the Associate told me that they will keep the software (that came free with the purchase) to install in the laptops and they couldn't do it that day because it was so hectic, which I understood. He told me that they would call me in a couple of days once the laptops had been set up (remind you that I NEVER touched the laptops nor seen them other than the pictures in the circular). My Work Order form said the promise date was 11/30/07, so I waited until yesterday (12/1/07) since I hadn't received a call from CC so I called them. I was told that their records show that my laptops had been pick up on the same day I purchased them. I'M FURIOUS!!! I keep getting the run around, being passed on from one person to another all saying they are looking into this situation. I called this morning just to be told that all the managers are busy, so i can leave my name/number and someone will call me back or I can call back. I did call right back and spoke with someone who said they were aware of my situation and he would call me back within 15 minutes. I told one of managers that either their employees are stealing or someone made a big mistake with this order. Unfortunately, this CC is about an hour away from my house. The only reason I went to this one for BF was because we stayed the night over my Aunts on T-Day. Otherwise I would go to the store in person, which I may end up doing if nothing is done today. Any suggestions??? I do have my receipt AND my service Work Order form.
Rockfordmom Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 does the work order have an employees name or number on it? you didn't sign anything that says that you picked it up? give them some time to look into it & I bet they set it right. probably just a mistake
Sue-Z-Q Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I don't blame you! I hope it gets figured out SOON.
deanabrown Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 If you paid by Credit card, I would dispute the charges until this is settled.
mrodgers169 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Oh my Gosh! That is horrible! They better resolve this for you ASAP!
jennie_bebe Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 If you paid by Credit card, I would dispute the charges until this is settled. Good Call. If it were me I would demand to stay on the phone until they fix it. It is now December 4th and they are still "looking into it"??? Doubt it.
zinnbball Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I know it is an hour away but go to the store! It is very easy to blow you off on the phone, when you are there in person, much more difficult. Stay until it is resolved. If you have to get loud in the store so all the customers "hear" that they lost your computers, so be it.. (usually they are well aware, and they don't want the rest of the store to hear!).
KrisinTn Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I had preordered the Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii system from CC for my ds. I was emailed a tracking number from their warehouse on Oct 29th. It was supposedly on a pallet that was delievered to my local post office on Nov 5. The post office did accept the pallet, but this individual piece was never scanned out for home delievery. The post master is a family friend so I feel fairly certain he is telling me the truth when he says this item wasn't on the pallet. They can only track by pallet numbers (this particular pallet had 188 items on it) until they are scanned out for home delievery at the post office. I started arguing with CC on the 8th of November. (all I wanted was a refund, or another item mailed) I am talking calling the 800 number two or three times a week, (that lands you on the phone with someone in India) each time I was assured that they would process a refund to my credit card within 72 hours. Never happened. A few times they even went as far as to give me a bogus case number. I would suggest writing down EVERYTIME that you talk with someone, get their employee number if possible. Then I started to going into the store, with all my documentation.... it took me going in 3 times.... and really showing my butt the last time, but I finally got my credit card credited back the payment on November 30th. The moral of the story - you can not let up on CC for a minute. Stay on them, or you will NEVER get anywhere. I will never deal with them again.
sthack Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 *********UPDATE********** After 12 VERY STRESSFUL days, CC FINALLY came through and compenstated me! They end up giving me MUCH better computers for the same price, they also gave me credit for the MIR that had expired during this time. I went through complete HELL during these last 12 days with CC and too stressed out to get into too many details. The operational manager (Carla) for that store reviewed the video tapes and said they didn't have enough footage....or something to that matter. But what I believe is that after my husband talked to someone in the CEO office (who called the store), that's what prompt her to respond to my NUMEROUS phone calls. I had just called her earlier today numerous times and she wouldn't come to the phone not one time but she would only relay messages through one of the customer service personnel. Then about 45 minutes after my husband got off the phone with someone in the CEO office, Carla called me to let me know that i could come pick up my laptops.................and yada yada yada. Just know that I will NEVER deal with CC again. Their customer service is the WORSE of all kind! Unfortunately, it's impossible for me to get the PC's set up without my children knowing since their Christmas break begins in a couple of days. I wanted to have it all set up while they were in school. I will continue to express my frustration about this company. My next step was to contact our local news station 'Problem Solver' team.

Looks like things got handled, which is a miracle with these people. The best I ever get is..."sorry, there is nothing we can do".
mrvatacious Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 I too had a similar problem with CC. On Bf I purchased a 42' Panasonic plasma online since they were running the same prices online and in store. Well when we went they said their records showed MY TV was already picked up. Well after about 45 minutes of waiting while they were trying to figure it out they asked me to sign an affadavit saying that I hadn't picked it up earlier and finally gave me the TV. So I feel your pain on that.
Shortness Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Wow--I don't think I'll be shopping there in the future. I'm always glad to know if there is a negative pattern within a store.
onesilverbeetle Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 yikes, so glad you managed to get your laptops.
Andrea Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Glad it all finally worked out. Horrible ordeal you had to go through. Im beginning to think some of these BF deals aren't really a deal in the long run. Hope you can things with your laptops done before the kids get out for break.
afan Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Wow I cant believe so may other people have the same story as me. just a little bit of what I had to deal with. I ordered a zune online for instore pickup. The item is supposed to be READY in 24min or you get a $24 gift card. I get there after driving 1 hour to get there and they say we dont have any more. The manger comes over and says he can offer us the black one for $199 which is $100 more then the one I bought. BAIT AND SWITCH!!!!!!! The only way you can buy something online for instore pick up is if that store has it other wise is wont let you complete the order and online it a showed they had one. So we leave and call CS After 2 weeks of calling and talking to CS and talking to everyone you can think of, still nothing. The store had gotten some in during those 2 weeks but never told us. So we are at another CC and they have the item that we wanted. So we went to CS desk to get the order switched to there store but the records show that we had picked it up 4 day earlier. WHAT? We were on the phone all day that day with CS and we haven't been back to that CC since we went there to pick it up. SO NOW THERE IS IDENTITY THEFT. The only way you can pick up an item is that the person who bought has to have the credit card you bought it with and order confirmation. So we go back to the store we ordered it from to do a little yelling because not only does someone have our item but our credit card info and now Im out $100. We get there and low and behold they have some in. Even though we had just talked to the manger a few hours before and he told us they didn't. Anyways I will spare you the details, we left with the item that night. And come to find out the person who picked up our item was from California. We live in Georgia. Anyone who lives in Georgia never shop at the Camp Creek location. Better yet never shop at any CC anywhere or you'll be sorry. CC SUCKS!!!!!
gryphon Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I've also had two instances of issues with CC and their inventory. First, I did the in-store pickup and the item was not in stock when I arrived. They had to get one from another store. Never got the gift card either but whatever, I left with my item after a 30 minute wait. Second, drove to a store to purchase an item that their internet site said was in stock. Turned out it wasn't so I had a sales associate pull up the site - it still said it was in stock even though they had not had the items for weeks. CC needs to work on their inventory system! In their defense, the local employees are trying to work with a broken system and you can often find very good deals on their website (just choose home delivery!). On a seperate rant, I was amazed to see two Wii boxes on display at my local CC over the weekend. Turned out they were empty display items. Not cool!
KrisinTn Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 [ In their defense, the local employees are trying to work with a broken system and you can often find very good deals on their website (just choose home delivery!). Choosing home delivery is not a good option either. Tried it and fought with them for a month for a refund on a item that I never received.
noaimhere Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Well I ordered the camera set for my neighbor and then her mom got one before it arrived. So it was not unopened or anything and i took it to return it. They couldn't return it becuase it still showed "in shipping " Even though I was holding it!
hpham Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Circuit City has been very unhelpful. I ordered 6 items online 11/22 to be shipped to my home. I received two packages from different warehouses about a week and a half later. One package with one correct items and the other package with all incorrect items. Have been calling Circuit City 800 customer service and gone to a store where their cutomer rep called 800 customer service. Circuit City 800 customer service keeps telling me they are considering it a lost package. I keep telling them I recieved the package with the wrong items. I have been unsuccessful in getting the problem resolved and stilling waiting for the 5items that I paid for on 11/22. I seem to be getting nowhere. Any helpful advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
