There's also this one:

Toshiba HD DVD's($298/$198) with 5 free movies.

I got the Toshiba HD-A3 on BF from Sears for $179.99 It has a mir for the 5 free DVDs but a Very limited selection to pick from and they are all terrible.:yuck::yuck::yuck: 5 categories and only 3 movies to choose from in each category. The categories make no sense either as to what kind of movie to pick from. I would of much rather be able to pick ANY dvd that I wanted like it sounds like Walmart is doing but the price I paid was much cheaper for the player.

Also the HD-A3 model does not come w/an hdmi cable or any cables for that matter so there is an extra cost to think about. Buy cables at monoprice.com not from the over priced stores.:smart:

The only Gateway model I know of that's a 6232 is not a laptop, it's a 21" LCD monitor.

I'm not familiar with Gateway computers, are they reliable? Isn't this the same unit Circuit City had for $299 after rebates a while back? I've been real disappointed with BF this year.

I was hoping for a 32" HDTV to go on sale again. My local WalMart still had 12-15 of the Poloroid 32" HDTVs the Sunday after BF. And good thing I didn't buy one because half of the sold ones came back as returns. I'm hearing horror stories on that model.

Is the poor quality based on all the manufacturer's products or is it based solely on WalMart models? I feel like the manufacturer are substituting QC for Quantity to make up for the huge discount when selling to WalMart. Any ideas?

Darn, I so wanted to find a good deal on a laptop but not with Gateway. We have gateway desktops at work and they are horrible. We have had a motherboard crash (under warranty still thankfully), and had 2 hard drives crash and burn (out of warranty so we had to pay for replacement on them). :(

No, the one at CC was a Compaq(HP). It had much better specs than this Gateway; if the post with the specs is accurate.
