allshoppedout
I ordered ONLINE from BB, the TOM TOM ONE 3rd Edition for the price of 149.99 early in a.m. of BF This was not the TOM TOM on front page for $119 . . . I got confirmation in a few hours and I got word that it would be weeks until it would be shipped. I was upset and called customer service and lady said I bet there is one at the local store, she checked there was, we'd go pick it up at a nearby store--there were 2 left. So DH got there a little after store opened--handed the clerk our sheet we printed out from Online purchase. He put it in the bag, charged the correct amt. DH went on his way to other sales.. Because I have 2 kids with disabilities it is hard to have places to hide presents, let alone do this shopping and then get to look at the items. All the bags were hidden for a few days, locked up actually. Tonight I checked all purchases...and lastly the BB bag (just 15 min. ago) cuz it was for me. The WRONG GPS system is in the bag. THE CHEAP ONE Is in the bag!! the freaking TOM TOM ONE LE--LIMITED EDITION that was on the front page is here! The receipt from store says 3rd edition, the printed out online receipt says 3rd edition--but we don't have 3rd edition. HELP do you think we will have any difficulty in the store?? DH is going in person to store tomorrow. I am so mad now, gonna have trouble sleeping. I hope they don't try to say we should have checked sooner,etc.. The way some dishonest people are today, I wonder if a worker charged someone they know for the cheaper deal(the LE) and bagged them the better 3rd edition, that was OURS? Not to be so pessimistic but I am upset. What would any/all of you do ?
boricualisto
Go and exchange it. Seems to be an honest mistake, especially if you consider all the madness that takes place on BF. BB shouldn't have a problem giving you the correct one (if they have it), especially if you paid of it. Ironically, some people online prefer the LE over the newer 3rd Edition (Bluetooth capability, etc.) but in that case then BB should discount the extra $30 for you if you decide to keep it. Either way, it shouldn't be a problem. Sleep tight. Happy Holidays ;-)

Marcster
Yeah, get a credit for the $30. The LE is a better unit. The LE is a Best Buy exclusive, by the way... As such, they probably don't sell too many 3rd editions. The LE also has the capability to do multi-stop itineraries (such as: to your friends to pick them up, to dinner, then to a baseball park, then to ice cream, then to drop them off, then home). The 3rd edition can only do one stop at a time, so each of the above stops would have to be typed in separately. For instance, your house to your friends. Then from their driveway type in the trip to dinner. Then when you leave the restaurant, to the ball park. And so on. Talk about annoying... Also the LE has a memory card slot (which the 3rd edition lacks) if you want to add a TON of POI lists (some will fit on the 3rd edition, but you can't put in a 2GB or 4GB card). Another place to learn about the TomTom is www.tomtomforums.com (I just joined as Genius of Love over there -- it's a joke, the band Tom Tom Club had a club hit in the 80s called Genius of Love). You can even get different voices for your TomTom there.

I will look for your posts over there. Enjoy your day Thanks again.Back in the day, when I was a mobile DJ (mid 90's), I was actively looking for that song... I would always look for it at used record stores (since the album and 12" were out of print, I couldn't order it). IT TOOK FOUR YEARS!!! But I finally found the actual record Tom Tom Club for $1.00 at a record store in Reading, PA. It was like finding the Holy Grail, OK, maybe not that important, but close. Nowadays, you can just buy the original and the club mix on iTunes for $.99 each, no searching involved. Have a great day too. http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Mil-Hello-Bye/baseballcap.gif
wifeymiller
Hope it goes well for you today. I would say that it's an honest mistake and if your dh goes in there with a "oops, I think you made a mistake, can we get this fixed" but is super nice, I doubt they will give him any problems. Hope it all works out for you.
boricualisto
Glad to help. Love the GPS. Every time I hear "Get Lost!" from someone (pretty often, it seems) I just reply "Nope, I've got a GPS!"
DaveL
As a long time user, I just bought the LE for my wife....it is a better unit then the 3rd addition in my opinion. The tomtomforums are a good place for info....I just have't registered as a member. Marcster - I wonder how many people will get the inside joke! I do remember the song though! allshoppedout
wow I am getting back to this thread days later. I was not feeling well:yuck:but am back to tell you that the exchange went well, whew. I got the LE and they didn't give us any problem !! I should have had faith, but because I read so many comments about customer service in different stores giving customers a hard time when it came to credits, etc, I was just real concerned. Thanks for all who commented/helped. gottalove gottadeal!
