whitecloak Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Hi All I am looking to buy the Canon a510 model. So far, the best deal I have found is $169.99. I would appreciate any help on finding a better deal :) Thanks in advance whitecloak
RossMAN Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 I would also consider the Canon A400 which has a great deal this week. I'll post more details later.

whitecloak Posted March 3, 2005 Author Posted March 3, 2005 thanks, once again. :) any killer deals on either camera? :)
i-bystander Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 How's this for a killer deal? http://ak.buy.com/db_assets/prod_images/183/10390183.jpg Canon Pixma iP3000 Color Photo Printer and PowerShot A400 3.2 Megapixel Digital Camera Bundle - 9686A023
Brad Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 that's a nice deal. it was $189 shipped with no rebates in december. how much is shipping on it now?
i-bystander Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I'm not sure... guess it depends on where whitecloak is.
Brad Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 That bundle is $10 more today, but you get free shipping now, so it's actually around $10 cheaper than yesterday. New customers can save $15 more with a coupon. Deal: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=6670
i-bystander Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 What do they do - change their prices everyday? Geeez. (Not that I'm complaining... it IS a better deal)
Brad Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 What do they do - change their prices everyday? Geeez. (Not that I'm complaining... it IS a better deal)Yes, they change stuff alot. As does Amazon. That's why it is so hard to keep deals updated on the main site. People complain when a deal posted 3 days ago has a higher price, but the retailer probably changed the price 8 times during that time, lol.
whitecloak Posted March 4, 2005 Author Posted March 4, 2005 Thanks, guys. I guess I will wait for a deal on the a510 :)
i-bystander Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 What do you like about the a510 (over the a400)?
whitecloak Posted March 4, 2005 Author Posted March 4, 2005 What do you like about the a510 (over the a400)?I am a newbie when it comes to digital cameras. :) I was just assuming that the a510 would be better value than the a400. One thing I do like about the a510 is the 4x optical zoom. Please feel free to correct me on my choice. I still havent decided yet. :)
mrn8 Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Good choice, I would say. The A510 is a much better camera than the A400. I only ever keep my camera in the optical range, because the digital zoom isn't adequate, IMO. A 2x zoom will leave you wanting much more range.
i-bystander Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 I have the A75 which the A510 replaced, and I'm very happy with it. I just wanted to know what feature/s you like about the A510. We'll keep an eye out and let you know when good deals come up - when do you expect to buy it anyways?
