The fact that there are no rebates makes it an even nicer deal. Get that low price "out the door". Good basic laptop. I don't see any upgrades that would be worth it, so you're better off doing those yourself for things like the HD and RAM.

That's a pretty hot deal. With a P4 3.06, it will be a battery killer, but it's still a great machine.

True but as Brad mentioned there are no rebate hassles which is a huge advantage.

 

Also this isn't your typical Dell Inspiron 1xxx stripped model with Celeron CPU, 256MB, 14.1" XGA, only DVD, integrated video, etc.

If you want WiFi, a good option is the Dell Wireless 1350 Internal Wireless (802.11b/g, 54Mbps) Mini-PCI card [add $29] or you could go with a cheap PC card.

Why would someone choose a cheap PCMCIA card over internal mini-PCI? Other than lower price of course.
